so do you really think neto will play that much more than giovinco at Juve to be a difference to the side? ok again you fail to establish the difference between who is actually getting the better deal for themselves, fiorentina lose a goalkeeper who is average at best will probably play 3 or 4 matches for Juve as a number 2 and will be at least another 3 or 4 years before he even gets a sniff at the number 1 shirt which he won't get

or

Giovinco who will aid a team that is struggling for attackers, given his time at Juve he is a very decent player for a mid table side a likely protagonist and would most likely be a regular in the team and hey you never know might just happen to score again Juve cost us 3 points just as he did at parma

so again how does Juve gain from getting a number 2 goalkeeper a position of little to no significance to the team other than in pre season and coppa italia matches which we don't even take seriously as it is to then help a team much disliked fill a void in attack an area that has significance to any team and could be damaging to us

in the long run leali will probably be the better goalkeeper than neto, I like what i've seen of leali at cesena this season
Again you fail to see a big club does not care what the deal means for the mid table team. What a provincial attitude. Who cares about Fiorentina having a mediocre midget 6 months earlier than they would.

And Neto is a long term improvement on Storari. Giovinco walks for free or Giovinco walks for Neto, easy choice really.

He will not have any playing time now with Viola. I guess, he want a transfer now, same with Giovinco. This exchange is perfect for everyone (since Gio, won't renew)
Links with Storari also, for his replacement.

Seems like a pointless move for him, coming here. Storari plays 3 games per season max. He should go to Liverpool to replace their Belgian vampire.

Giovinco more likely to play for fiorentina on a regular basis than neto is for us. shit deal, if we had to sell giovinco at least trade him for someone who would be remotely useful even if it is for a decent squad player who will play a bigger role than a number 2 gk

We can't trade Giovinco with a team that we want, since he can go wherever he wants. This deal, is good for us and Fiorentina (especially for them).
I can't understand Neto's logic. He is 25, he can be a starter for a every mid-table (or better) team, from Serie A or Liga BBVA and he choose to be a bench player...while he knows, that he will never be a starter for us.

That has to be one of the worst career moves i've ever witnessed. Neto was just about to gain some prestige as a player and now he is moving to be a bench player behind Buffon. He most likely killed any chance to have a more than average career with that move imo.

The only reason why we have signed him is probably so we can use him as a bargain chip in deals anyway or to make some money straight away once Neto realizes what he did.

What is everyone's thoughts on this guy?

Is he a decent keeper at least, considering that he would be 2nd choice next season?

awesome deal considering its a free.

at the age of 37, we do have to wonder how long buffon can keep playing at a high level. even the great oliver kahn started slowing down drastically in his late thirties. neto would ake sure we have a solid back up in case. and his age means we have a long term goalie with potential for starter spot.

It would be stupid for the club not to take advantage to get him on a free. Buffon has done well this season, the season before we saw some decline and all thought he may decline further the year after. I personally like the fact that we will have quality future back up to Buffon...and personally i think Allegri should try to use him more often than he has Storari, of course not to the extent of sabotaging the form of Buffon.
