well actually they said that he is a registered interpreter but he didn't actually interpret the things that were said, I'm no expert in sign language but if you watch some of the speeches given his hand signals didn't really go in sync with what was said which raised suspicions
It was also said that this guy has a mental disorder which can cause him to totally freak out and become violent.
