I know the empire fucked up, a lot, im not defending it at all, imperialism is wrong. But you cannot just blame the UK for what happened or ignore some of the things we introduced. Is has been suggested that 6 million people were killed by us in the boer war (which i cannot believe especially as there is no evidence to support it) I especially hate the scots for the way they think they are opressed by being in the union, it was their king that signed them into it, they were the one country in the empire we never conquered.

Explain away Ireland, I'd fucking love to hear that
I dont want to justify the empire, imperialism or anything akin to that, primarily because i am vehemently opposed to any of those notions. I do not understand why the current gen of British citizens get the blame for 18-20th century european imperialism, im fairly sure that most are opposed to it. Ireland was a massive mistake, involving England and Scotland and Dutch on one side and the native Irish on the other. It was ridiculous and run by fucking moron who were on a self determined path to destroy Irish culture. Theres no justification and the only thing that can solve the current situation is time, if you want an example of that, the borded between north and south is virtually non existant.

I havent read the article i just googled it and linked it. I am not defending the Empire, i am trying to even the blame between all the european nations rather than blaming current gen british citizens and forgeting all the french, italians, germans, portugese etc.etc.etc. that did exactly the same thing, sometimes worse and some didnt bother to try and improve where they conquered.

Well said, but this bit here.

The reason that there is little tension despite their stil existing a unionist favouring state is that the people in northern ireland are our fellow irishmen, that attitutude has permeated very deeply the past 10 years.

two reason for the current generation getting the blame i can think of:
1.You have yet to apologise and take the blame
2.You still haven't given us back our 6 counties....

They arent yours whilst the majority of that populase doesnt want to be in the ROI, thats the line that the British government has taken for the past 5-10 years iirc. And Tony Blair did appologise.

A Sasanach is a Sasanach, a planter a planter, a rapist a rapist, a murder a murder, a thug a thug.

If they came from the island they were a brit :agree:

They are not part of the ROI part of Ireland the country that has yet to be re-established, and they are ours. It is stolen land, the entirity of the populace ARE Irish though, that's the point, not from the ROI but from Ireland itself a 32 county country.
