IKEA founder overtakes Gates as world's richest - TV

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Ingvar Kamprad, the Swede who founded furniture retail chain IKEA, has overtaken Microsoft's Bill Gates as the world's richest man, Swedish TV news reported on Sunday.

Citing next week's edition of the Swedish business weekly Veckans Affarer, public service SVT2 television said Kamprad, 77, has a personal fortune of 400 billion crowns ($53 billion).

Gates's fortune is put at $47 billion, according to the latest list of the world's rich in U.S. Forbes magazine, SVT2 said.

Kamprad, known for frugal habits such as flying economy class, lives in Switzerland and no longer takes part in the daily running of IKEA, but has kept ownership of the company with more than 180 stores in over 30 countries in the family.

SVT2 said the dollar's slide against other currencies is the main reason why Kamprad has now overtaken Gates.

the deal seems very sketchy to me. Mutu is a very good player and no doubt he could replace del piero. however, 30 million euros as well as mutu is a lot of cash considering mutu was sold for like 15 or 30 last season.

Makelele is an upgrade to tacchinardi but also is nearing 30. i would rather get a younger midfielder such as pedretti for example. and we still have others at the club and on loan.

i'm just thinking that maybe mutu can play behind the forwards and miccoli can play in del piero's role. Or, maybe a 4-3-3 formation could be implemented with mutu, miccoli and someone like zlatan being upfront.

anyway, if an offer as such is given, moggi should really take it. its a lot of money and we get a great replacement.

one problem though. Mutu criticised Serie A savagly after joining chelsea, i wonder if it will be a problem.

Wait for US Dollar strengthening after the November elections against the European currencies, and Bill Gates will be the richest again :)

terry and lampard could never be sold from chelsea, they are symbols of the club. del piero is a symbol too, but he's clause to be 30, so it's his last chance to play somewhere else like juve. I think, he would be pretty motivated in the premier league, so motivated as he was 20. The problem is, that pinturicchio is also the favourite diamond of lippi, if he goes, i'm sure that lippi goes too (to chelsea? :)).
i would cry if delpiero would leave us, but mutu, makelele and players to buy from the money.... we could handle our problems for a long term i think.
But if you ask me, i would consider about selling nedved, if abramovich would by him.
my list: cavenaghi, vdv, rosicky, diego, touré (bytogon), mexés, lucio, samuel... we need at least 2 defenders, 2 midfield, and 1 striker and that' sthe minimum...

Microsoft has to hire programmers and pay for research

IKEA charge ridiculous prices and earn high margins for their furniture

Plus IKEA don't get sued for $60m for having an unfair monopoly on furniture :D
