i also just read about this on other sites. the cargo ship is suspected to be on robot pilot while met services issued a warning of fog for the area, and the cargo ship didn't even make an attempt to avoid the collision. either this is extreme negligence or serious provocation

I don't see why they would. Canada is incredibly vast and has recources everywhere. Their population would presumably enter a guerilla warfare and would no doubt be backed by almost the entirety of Europe. Not to mention that it seems likely that the majority of the US population would actually support the Canadians. This would be a war the US cannot win.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t know if the general population of Canada is in a state to fight guerilla warfare. Unfortunately I believe USA would be able to conquer them pretty easily. I only hope the military has enough people with sense in it that they do not go for it blindly because trump said so.

I’m sure a resistance would build along the Canadian population over time but also the cultures between USA and Canada aren’t that different from the west and Middle East and quite frankly, Canadians are also used to a different standard of living than Afghans are.
