The technology for that isn't ready yet, especially at scale. It's also not affordable for smaller farm operations. Are you going to send out a bunch of Elon's AI robots to pick apples at a 100 acre farm owned by a small generational farmer? We are decades off that.

But you're right, I think Elon is a big supporter of this because he wants to sell his robots. Dude isn't even a Murican.
It should exists here in regards to farming, The Netherlands are competing with the US and China when it comes to agriculture (tomatoes and sweet pepper) absolute top notch facilities after decades of innovation.

he stopped a war with france

WITH FRANCE

this is an idiot, no other ways to put it. if it was your neighbor you'd avoid him like a plague, raised a 3 meter fence and planted 6 surveillance cameras pointed towards his house

but give him limitless power, what could possibly go wrong

In the public eye it all started to unravel with clinton and then Snowden. But i think patriot act was the last nail in the coffin.

What makes you say that
So far robots have been extremely poor at small series of repetitive but slightly intricate tasks.

The work of a nurse for instance. Changing bandages or diapers is basically the same action every time, but the patient changes and dimensions always differ. Robots still do very poor in this line of work.

If we had robots capable of doing these jobs, they'd be storming the market right now.

Absolutely crazy how much output the Netherlands get from fairly limited farmlands.

Probably not feasible to round them all up, I agree. Doesn’t mean we should ship out the ones we find or know about. Make it harder for them to get jobs or punishments for companies that hire them.

- - - Updated - - -

We already are a police state if you realized how powerful our collection is. That’s a different conversation altogether.
Until the U.S. sees any meaningful re-regulation of immigration, all political talk around immigration is just political posturing. Nobody wants to change a thing. They just want to look like they're changing a thing.

The U.S. agricultural, restaurant, and construction businesses alone would be decimated without illegal immigrants jammed 28 to an apartment working for slave wages. And replacing those workers with U.S. citizens earning real wages would mean the price of food and homes would skyrocket even more than they have already in order to hire to staff them. And that would be a political landmine blowing up in everyone's face.

Immigration is a third rail that no one meaningfully wants to address. So there's this fake dance of looking like you're against immigration while allowing them in under the radar. Everything political related to immigration is inherently two-faced.

wouldn't deporting millions of people who likely work long hours in low paying jobs with no benefits and minimal safety regulations likely be at odds with Trump's donors? Sure, his base is all about it but the folks actually giving him money/ significant backing probably don't want to lose access to that exploitable labor force
Donors?

How about Trump's own businesses?...

Well Trump is a fascist and thinks Hitler did some good things (according to Kelly), so I’m not surprised.

Also, have anyone saw Tucker Carlsons speech? He called Trump a daddy :)

the whole trump campaign has been a complete shitshow. but they know that their fans will vote for them no matter what so they'll get away with everything

when it comes to russian influence though, they should be prosecuted and their national security clearance should be revoked. why pay musk billions when he might (and since he's acting on kremlin commands, most probably already has) pass(ed) classified information to putin

imagine trusting these on anything, especially national security and defending american interests. surreal

Elon Musk is a traitor to the country, period. He should be SWATTED at 4am and sent to Guantanamo Bay immediately where is he promptly waterboarded for information on what he gave up to Putin, hopefully never seeing the light of day ever again.

Elon Musk is no free speech proponent. He is using his stupid platform to push agendas, you can see it everyday. Including the stupid Christian extremists.

I know man's a fraud.

A few months ago I made one of my co-workers through a fit because I was shitting on his hero Elon
Was an incredible sight to see, grown ass man in his early 30's throwing a fit because I said fuck Elon and called him a fraud. What prompted the whole interaction was that man was watching one of those space launches thing and I laughed at it called it money laundering
If only he gave a third of the attention he gave Elon towards his own life, but oh well some folks just want to hang under another man's nutsack

as for christian extremism. folks aught to give a lot more attention towards politicized religion, Islam isn't the only religion being politicized.

He's not a traitor for the simple reason he's not (really) an American.
