Hoping it does get pulled north. My area will definitely flood even if it lands on Tampa which is only a few hours away. This is reminding me of Wilma, it was a cat 4 and decreased to 3 by landfall but stlll managed to make everything look like a war zone. No electricity for 15 days. I’m expecting the same kind of impact here in the south. Bad feeling about this.

The mofo is a category 5 going 175mph at the moment. What a beast. I do hope their prediction about it decreasing to 3 by landfall is correct. I’ve seen with my own eyes what a 3 and 4 can do. Florida would be leveled.

The Wilma correlation isn't a bad one. I know some of the models are showing wind sheer and dry air coming into play as landfall approaches, but it's not a guarantee. Looks like the track is more or less the same as last night with a landfall between Tampa and Fort Myers. It will still have time to shift though.
The really scary thing is the surge potential as outlined by Eric in this tweet. Even if it weakens before landfall, the damage will still be done with all the potential energy shoving the water around before landfall.
