Porn is a strange one - in a way its similar to cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc, no added value, highly addictive, the only purpose is pleasure.

But imo its also considerably worse - from a religious pow its problematic not just because its addictive, but also because theres lust heavily involved. Ethically speaking theres all kinds of ugliness that you wouldnt want to be a part of thats linked to THB, underage sexual exploitation, rape, etc. Society as a whole would definitely stand to gain if porn one day vanished.

And how little we care about them when they come home! More often than not disabled, physically or mentally or both. I guess you served a lot of time on the front lines?
i believe we should have universal healthcare so they would be taken care of.

but no, I’ve never served. I just don’t think someone is better just because they decided to become military

Dostoevsky’s worst nightmare.
Although to be fair, no first world country aspires to have ‘Murica’s crime and murder rate.

@MrMonkey @ALC

The problem with all of this is that it is a negative reinforcement loop. It was a shitty war, we had zero business going into Iraq or Afghanistan, Bush wanted to do it, we got there, we fucked everything up, made more enemies than friends, then we are all weirded out when vets are all fucked up. Then, the VA has a backlog LITERALLY DATING TO GUYS WHO WERE IN VIETNAM, and to make it super better awesome town, the Republicans decide to cut the VA budget by over 20%.

You know, because they care about the troops and getting those WMDs.

And somehow the only influential person pulling for them to get benefits is a comedian

It's not going anywhere. The industry is so powerful it set the standard for different media types in the past. VHS over BetaMAX, DVDs and BluRays over HDDVD, etc.
I dunno about the industry being powerful. It’s mostly slimy numbers guys with a lot of customers but disproportionately low revenues (credit card bans, etc., will do that).

Hey, as I recall, when I briefly worked a dozen years ago as VPE of a video platform company that had porn houses as B2B customers, I think I gave you a free login, right? The industry has gotten more gnarly since then I’ve heard.

But porn VR hasn’t been the massive industry adoption strategy as some have expected. I expect the industry will be subject to waves or overzealous performative regulation sabre-rattling (as we’re seeing now with kids and social media), but no real bite because the senator loves his BBW lovelies on demand as it is now.

New George Floyd? Any video?
Go to PornHub or LobsterTube or xHamster and look up "Floyd the Landlord."

:lol2:

Holy shit, I forgot about that, yea, you did.

I'm sure you're right, but I would think the industry average is a bit older than most other digital media platforms just by the average age of the consumer. This makes me think the VR aspects might not pick up as expected, but that's true about the gaming industry and everywhere else, as well.

I read that a porn site (probably pornhub) has 150 million viewers on average LOL (each minute).
The genius of the business is a single guy bought all of the sites so he can share the IP/ads and such across them all. I think it was PornHub, RedTube, and one other. Smart dude.

Again, it's probably a good thing Republicans cut the VA benefits by 22% recently, so this guy can get the help he deserves now.

Support the troops!
