Reagan was insanely popular and won 2 terms in landslides only a few years after watergate. As much as his politics is different than mine I should say he was one of the most successful presidents in 20th century, and he had to deal with Democratic majorities in the congress. Obama squandered a house majority and a filibuster proof senate majority which won’t probably be repeated in near future. He really belongs to the middle of the pack.
The words republican and democrat are merely an illusion of choice, in reality we have very little, on a magnitude that really counts anyway, the powers that be make those choices for us.

Obama’s final Gallup approval rating was pretty high. Only Reagan and Clinton had a higher rating among modern presidents. This is significant considering he handed it to his seemingly polar opposite. If he fractured the nation then I guess nation had no idea that he did it.
