Shared some of this a while back, but rewatching it struck a chord with the normalization bit, or new normal as they call it now @Quetzalcoatl

The one fly in the ointment on this premise that glares at me is that it largely subscribes to mistake theory rather than conflict theory in terms of its mechanics. Humans have evolved to primarily find social affinities and status first, the truth second, as a survival skill. The truth has never had primary domain over society except for the few edge cases where parts of society bestowed social status on truth, which is more scientific research and the like.

All of which would suggest that separating Americans from the truth didn't even need the KGB.

USWNT missing the podium. That will be the catalyst as they would have no platform to protest :p
Nah. Freedom doesn't mean freedom from the USWNT.

Freedom is more like saying a big f.u. to public health, so restaurant workers should no longer be required to wash their hands after taking a dump as it should be left up to personal choice. :D

This is why you don't allow commies or the Muslim brotherhood a presence in a free democratic society. The conflict of theories, though with truth not being central for its success, ought to be reserved to those ideas that adhere to those central themes at their core.

Though zero sum social theory would suggest that the best way to kick out the commies is to ensure people have better options.

Even if, and perhaps especially if, those options support better social status.
