Next movie idea. A revolutionary film about the dangers of leaving your kids unsupervised, where a middle age man molests a child, containing footage that show the actuall molestation of a child.
Coming near you next fall.
A little far fetched, but same principal in cuties "the dangers of hypersexualization of children", in a movie that actually hypersexualizes them.

I wonder what would the world say if cuties was directed by a man.
Mainstream media has to side with the movie, regardless of morals. The director is from a minority and a woman. She's like a unicorn in the branch. PC politics decree that you have to ride her side to the grave if you have to.

Also the director could have used 18 old actresses and say in the film they are 15, and totally avoid the potential backlash.
I'm sure they could have found someone in the 650 children they apparently auditioned for the roles.
I thought cuties was a documentary about how popular child beauty pageants are in conservative states.

That's more than a little far-fetched.

You're right that it would be taken differently if it was a white man who directed it, however the world we live in is very delicate when it comes to issues like source of material, information etc. Mainstream media might be going through the motions but the indies are certainly having their say.

It might be a good story but I don't have any real interest in watching 11 year old dance troupe girls prancing about, or it being shown to me what I already see in the society I live in, which is that children are increasingly sexualised. However, if you scroll through reviews it's a mixture of "brilliant, only mildly uncomfortable to watch", "boring", or "child sexual exploitation!". I'm willing to bet that the majority of the latter are from people who haven't seen it and are voicing their displeasure, which is up to them. It's not a review though.

I've noticed over the years that some Euro films can get close to the bone with issues of children and sex, although usually they are played by older actors. I suppose you could get 16 year olds to play 11 year olds but in the end there will also be criticism for the portrayal if the material is graphic. It's not 18 playing 15, it's a different age group to tell this story - kids are already well sexualised / having sex in Europe by 15. Also, it's one thing to have children dancing around provocatively, but to think a child in their underwear or dance costumes is sexual, that is a different mindset. In this age of social media and TikTok with kids dancing around, Instagram with tens of thousands of perverts following underage girls, this now has the spotlight on an issue and it makes people uncomfortable and upset.

Still, my initial comment to it was why are some forms of clear child sexualisation acceptable yet others bring about such a response. Is it the wider audience? I think the poster was deliberate, all press is good press. You can't put a bunch of pre-teen girls in sexual poses and then put "CUTIES" underneath it and think that this isn't going to draw interest. The director said she had no say in it, but I bet she isn't as upset with the marketer as she makes out.

So, I've been very active on thread for quite a while now and I've noticed that, much like the nation as a whole, there has been a lot of conflict between right-leaning and left-leaning members about some very important social issues that out nation is currently coming to terms with. But there is one thing you both seem to have in common - a shared hatred for ultra woke intersectional SJWs, as some of you might say. Well, what if I told you that I come to you tonight with a solution!? Some would say it's impossible, others would call me crazy. But when I saw two almost blank fliers taped to a crossing light, I knew I had to share this discovery with Tuz immediately. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, HAMMER CITY, the latest project by the Black Hammer Organization (that I just heard of 20 minutes ago).

What is Hammer City you ask? A utopia on Earth in the greatest state in the union, the center of enlightened thought and reason - FLORIDA. "No 'Rona," one of the fliers even said! Not convinced yet? Why don't we explore some details of this heaven on Earth:
  • Building a city for all people of color to be free (no discrimination of nationality, gender, age, mental/physical differences, etc) - Fantastic!!
  • Jobs, housing, food, healthcare - Everything you could ever want!!
  • No cops, no rent, no Coronavirus, and no white people - I've had enough of their Starbucks and sunblock smell too! So many different things in one bullet point!!
  • Returning the land to Indigenous people - Somehow meaning all people of color in the country I guess!
  • Building the first Hammer City in Florida - Let the empire begin!
Now I know what you're all thinking: "sounds perfect! But how much will it all cost?" The figurative million dollar question. Well you'll be overjoyed to learn that it won't cost anywhere near as much. You can contribute to this vision of heaven on Earth for half of that, just a modest amount of $500,000 in total is needed. Won't you give today?

Woa I can't believe some of the stuff you guys post here are real.
Tell me that you're making jokes for non-americans pls!

Else if it's all real I suggest white people with a brain to run away from a such fucked up country

big case here, kid is autistic
Euthanasia. All autistic children should be shot.

Per Al Franken...of all the Dems I want to see go down in flames, he wasn't one of them. I loved Al when he was in comedy and always appreciated his tact as a politician. He actually was one of the few that seemed genuine and it showed when he willfully resigned his post because he knew he fucked up. Imagine if all politicians held themselves to those same standards. He screwed up, he knew it but others don't own up to it like he did and I gained a lot of respect for him after he owned up.
When it comes to so-called liberals, I often thought Minnesota had some of the better ones at the state level.

I saw a 2015 south park episode, that was so delightfully accurate.

1) *calls911* "sir there are a bunch of scum invading my yard, breaking my property

2)"copy sir. Are there any minorities involved"

1) "yes I believe so, why does that matter"

2) "sorry sir, we ain't touching that. Don't get me wrong. Most of us joined to force to beat the shit out of criminal minorities, but we can't take the huge risk today"

1) "what, but they are trashing things up and performing criminal acts"

2) "sorry sir, good luck"

In 2015 this was extrapolating both sides
In 2020 its partially and frightingly accurate.
That is my brother's police beat in a nutshell.

A whole month after this, Pelosi visited SF's Chinatown and was urging people to come patronize shops and restaurants while calling Trump racist for the travel ban he had enacted. :lol3: Are we going to pretend now she didn't know? Only Trump did?

At least Trump actually took solid action in enacting a travel ban.
Um, last I checked, SF's Chinatown was part of the US and didn't require passport controls and a customs office to enter or leave.

It is equivalent when the right does an about after calling the pandemic a hoax for months, and blames the left wing protests for its Spread lol

Anyways, your country is growing retarded people as more and more radiate further and further left and right.
That's becoming harder and harder to argue against from an outside view.

The only thing I really care about in that post is the Republicans going to jail. It doesn't matter to me whether someone wins a peace prize; the more important matter is that the endless wars can finally... end. The 200k would have died regardless of what Trump said; I don't know anybody who lives their lives waiting on directions from Trump, other than the Libtards obsessed with everything he says.
Endless wars was a thing. One of the good things Trump has been behind, IMO.

But saying 200k would have died regardless is a small step from saying we all will eventually die regardless, so why the big deal about 9/11?

except he didn’t, he left open Hong Kong and Macau in addition to allowing non Chinese people who had visited the mainland but hadn’t flown direct enter the country, those travelers were supposed be traced upon entering the country but weren’t. tens of thousands of people entered the country from China during the travel ban

I get the keep it quiet part and all that. Would make sense if he wasn’t saying the same thing 1,2,3 or however many months later

give the guy credit for calming North Korea, leading a solid economy and not getting into any wars but do not give the guy credit for the worst covid response of the developed world. 200,000 deserve better than that
As I said 7 months ago, pandemics reflect the cultures they infect. The US has a lot of f'ed up things about its individualistic culture that would have made COVID a disaster regardless of who was president. But Trump basically poured gasoline on the fire instead of trying to create fire breaks. So yeah, culpability is there.

There's no reason my sh*thole socialist country should be running circles around the US's health and welfare systems under COVID, but it is. It's way safer here, and I spent yesterday afternoon eating some amazing seafood by the ocean in a restaurant. I talk to people back home near SF and they have barely left the house in the past week. And none of this was because the locals here prioritized the economic crisis over public health, so Americans would be wise to do some soul searching about how badly they f'ed this one up,

The bigger challenge is that the world is going to likely experience more interconnected disruptions like this in the future ... whether due to climate, disease, supply chain disruption, etc. If you don't get this things working now, it's only going to get worse in the future. American individualism is still part of that problem ... with its head buried in the sand thinking that individual responsibility is the cure to all the world's ills when it is clearly not. You can decry it as socialism all you want. but without some functional systems of collective action there is now the great specter of collective failure, and that's what the US has to confront in its global survival for the future.

Yeah. I agree with all of this. I have no idea what I would do if I lived down there. Probably wouldn’t vote. I agree with liberal politics of the 90s, etc. But I despise the progressive, identity politics wing of the party so much that I have trouble supporting them any longer. But I just don’t agree with conservative ideology in most other aspects so I don’t believe I could ever be conservative either. As @Zacheryah said above, a viable option in the middle would be a godsend.
There are few good choices anymore. Nassim Taleb talks about this in how the extremists always win:
The Most Intolerant Wins: The Dictatorship of the Small Minority
We need mechanisms to keep that in check, because it's creating a gaping void about anyone who represents sanity anymore.

Speaking of Obama...

Unprecedented fires in Cali and Australia, runaway glacier melt in Greenland, rising sea levels covering islands and flooding cities, more powerful hurricanes, longer droughts. This is fine.

Whether you believe in the boogieman or not, the status quo and its current trendline should make everyone nervous. You could come up with a conspiracy theory and blame aliens, I don't care. But sitting on our hands and pretending it isn't happening and that we shouldn't do anything about what actually is happening is a bit suicidal.

"Even more hilarious is that the women credited with popularizing this sort of party, blamed “toxic masculinity” for all the damage caused by these parties recently."

Like I said, they have surpassed even the religious fundamentalists. Its beyond time to stop overlooking how dangerous this dogma is.

Whats happened so far is nothing, just imagine 10 years from now.
I really wonder if we need to rethink this. Like there has to be ways to use the ridiculousness of identity politics against itself as a weapon.

I dont think it's so much a case of blaming left wing protests for its spread, but rather questioning the real effectiveness of this virus seeing as protestors can pack out the Lincoln memorial in DC with no condemnation in regards to health risks, but ordinary folk can't attend church or other mass gatherings. They have a valid point when certain politicians fail to address this in fear of trashing all the work they've done in pandering to the BLM mob.
Clamping down on political dissent is a dicey precedent. Not that clamping down on religion is ok either, but certainly staging religious gathering indoors vs outdoors is nuts. And it's not like every other type of event or gathering hasn't already moved online. Who's to say practicing your religion in a group is any more special than attending Burning Man or the Electronic Entertainment Expo conference for your business?

Yeah, the world loves watching it rot and fall from the inside.

Just like when 9/11 happened.
I'm not seeing that here. There's a bewilderment, a bit of shock and horror, but also a sadness and disappointment too. And a resignation of watching an empire fall... something they have experience with here.

I love that they have a security camera watching their Trump sign. Priorities.
That is one of the most Murican things I've ever seen. Guy sets up a security cam on a political poster in his yard, guy urinates it, and guy films himself firing a gun at him. That says everything about Murica.

Indigenous people or Native Americans.
I am calling b.s. on this long con. It is politically incorrect, but nobody short of a few Ethiopian tribes are indigenous. Or native. We as a species have invaded the entire planet and totally different ecosystems. There isn't this "finders keepers" or "first dibs" rule, like some seem to suggest. It's arrogant and ignorant of humanity's history of colonization and tribal warfare and the many winners and losers over history.

Can it really be so simple to hack a twitter account? Nowadays everything has two-step verification.
Maybe he got SIM-jacked too: (202) UR-FIRED

I still have to take issue with this data as a binary representation of events. It doesn't allow for the subtlety that you can have a peaceful protest where bored teens join in because they want to throw rocks and loot under cover of political activism, which happens a ton.

Yeah lets just ignore blatant pedophilia because it's not cool to be outraged.
You mean like college sports?
