I disagree, most of the time it's the left saying we are the better educated or our measures are the ethical ones, not to mention the drumming up of the grievances of racial/sexual or any other class which do nothing but to divide people. From personal experience, i have yet to see a conservative friend or acquaintance shame or shun another who espouses liberal values, the opposite however is all too common. Obviously the right has its own problems, elitism and division policies aren't one of them.

I disagree, the right is very exclusive at least from my point of view. I’ve lived the majority of my life in politically conservative states and have had a lot of conservative friends. I’ve been told so many times to shut the fuck up because my liberal ideas don’t matter. Just because you haven’t experienced something doesn’t make it untrue.

As for division policy, the right has thrived on division policy since the southern strategy, red lining, etc. Now it’s dog whistles and “real” America.

On the whole both parties are super inclusive within their own spectrum. But not with each other. And that’s the big problem.

Thats because the democratic party has a delicate process. They have to court the radical vote (its the only momentum, the only passion in their base) but the people in charge actually don't want any sort of real or systemic change in the slightest.

So they have to find a way to capitalize off the it without actually giving anything it wants. its a complicated process and their chosen path seems to be to dangle progressive candidates in front of them, rig the game against them, then provoke racial animosity. It charges the base and provides useful misdirection for the fact the Dem estabilishment is taking your money while robbing you of any choice to pick the candidate who is supposed to represent you.

You won't actually get any of the progressive reforms you want, but you do get a free pass to express your violent hatred of white America.
