The polls were relatively accurate on a national scale for the election as Hillary won by 3 million votes (whatever Trump deludes himself into believing). It's the smaller scale they got horribly wrong, the swing states. I'd imagine it's likely so still. His approval ratings are low when taking into account all of America, but I'd being willing to bet they are decent in the swing states that won him the election.

Proportional representation comes from the two houses of congress. It's rather inane that the vote for president isn't done by popular vote. The electoral system in the U.S. is truly stupid. But that's the fault of both parties.
I agree that national polls were not far off. But DJT's approval polls are very different from each other. To be exact, one of them is very different from the rest. I'm just curious why.
House elections are actually even more stupid. With all the gerrymandering, most of the congressman worry more about primary challengers than their opponent from the other party. Reps get elected sometimes by only a few hundred votes because not many people vote in the primary.

I hope :p

I actually wasn't able to vote at the time of the election, not even an absentee ballot so I literally could not vote. :D

Hard to say which would would be more scary, IMO both are bad but each for obvious different reasons. The candidate I wanted bowed out a long time ago and no, it wasn't Cruz or Fiorina. At the end of the day I feel bad that it actually came down to two pretty bad candidates. For me, its more that THAT was who we had to choose between.
So you honestly believe Clinton is as bad as Trump?

In terms of economic power it's only a matter of time before China overtakes them (they've done it with total GDP PPP already, but that's not saying that much).

Campaigning about how not guilty you are and how sexist your opponent is. She's great :baus:

The first article is a joke, if you don't want Hitler comparisons don't base your campaign on xenophobia and stop dismantling just about every foundation US democracy is built on (separation of power, free media, legitimacy of elections,...)

And I legitimately don't have any idea what point you're trying to make with the second link? Just by itself it only relates to my post by several tangents, are you saying the US will keep its economic superiority with automation? That's the only explanation I could come up with that makes the slightest amount of sense, and it's a huge stretch already.

That video was legitimately hilarious though  Especially the guy churning in about Hitler just because he heard about something German

House just voted to dismantle the agency that is responsible for preventing voter fraud and making sure the machines don't get hacked.

That is one sure way for Trump to get to the bottom of the voting fraud scandal, by eliminating the department whose job it is to make sure that it doesn't take place.

Khamenei: Donald Trump shows real face of US
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/02/ayatollah-khamenei-donald-trump-170207114954347.html
Khamaneei, I think, always hated democrats more than republicans in that in his mind, although democrats and repubs' policies are essentially the same, the latter is more open about who they are. Remember this? “Iran does not trust America. Underneath their velvet gloves, they have hidden iron hands.” Though he directed that towards Obama, I think one incident he never got over with (even to this date) was his giving approval to Khatami's government to cooperate with the US against Taliban, which was soon followed by Bush's introducing axis of evil and putting Iran (who were closely collaborating with them in Afghanistan) on that list. I have no doubt in my mind that it also contributed to Khamaneei's support of Ahmadinejad and the radical approach the regime adopted after Khatami. Shame.
