There are only two states that break it down by districts (Maine and Nebraksa). Honestly, the rest of the states should follow suit.

Yeah since Constitution leaves it to the states to choose how they wanna pick the electors. But the problem is nobody wants to be the first (not counting Nebraska and Maine) to do that since they lose leverage. On the other hand, any state that does that week no longer be "in the bag" for any candidate

Yep, either all states should do it at once, or none at all.
Blue States won't do it because it will help Republicans get more EC votes and vice versa

But it can also be interpreted as that being the true representation of where people stand. Take New York for instance. If it were broken down into congressional districts, and NYC went blue, and the rest of the state went Red, and because of it, New York goes blue, then that really isn't a true measure of what the people of the state of New York are feeling. Is it?

Yes. But there are more than 2 candidates and they can put a minimum threshold for the percentage of vote which makes you eligible to pick an elector. Similar to how Democrats assign delegates in the primaries (threshold is 15 percent there)
