I have a feeling ICE will detain sometime innocent and they will die in custody. It's inevitable when you take frightened people away with this level of force. Also, these agents must've been told they're immune or something because they're so heavy handed or maybe it's a power trip because they're acting like total inhumane cunts. There's a good chance that has already happened. Especially since there is no transparency and no way to contact people for weeks and know where they are.

The people who point these examples out are almost as sad as pedophiles and arguably just as dangerous. Because they cognitively cannot tell the difference between human affection and sexual abuse. That's the psychological profile of someone who probably was sexually abused. They don't see a distinction between a grandpa who gives hugs and someone who gang rapes children for dark web sales.

Personally, I'm sick of the haphephobes. Look, it's their right into have their personal space if they don't want to be touched by anyone. Whether or not that is a result of abuse they suffered in their lives. But at the same time these people are depressed and lonely, scrolling social media on a toilet with a gun in their mouths because everyone is a afraid of giving them a hug. And it's making them suicidal.

One of the things I've really appreciated about the culture upon moving to Portugal is how affectionate it is. You meet a woman in a business environment for the first time, and it's customary to kiss each other on both cheeks a la the French la bise. But a little warmer than the French. People are comfortable in their own bodies, and it helps create better social bonds. They don't act like everyone they meet is a potential sexual predator.

My issue is the implication is that sniffing a girl's hair = Pizzagate

I don't mean to sound patronizing about this, but I find it sad that so many people never experienced an elderly person in their life who hung out with a girl before. And what do old people do when hanging out with young children at an event? They hold out fingers, they pull noses, they sniff hair, they pat heads.

Some of that is perhaps socially outdated for what was acceptable 60 years ago. But why? What is so horrific about it?

Yes, in our modern era where every stranger wants to get into your underpants, you should never leave your home basement and only play video games. But this attitude is not only overreaction and completely enfeebling for a child. It's also destroying the emotional well-being of young people.

I also know that not everyone treats physical contact the same. I've shared hugs with former coworkers at a party once where everyone (almost) was encouraging it. And then I made the mistake of not wanting to leaving someone towards the back who I mistakenly found wanted to be completely left out. OK, lesson learned. But it wasn't assault. It wasn't malicious. I learned my lesson once, as I had no idea of her history. But that doesn't mean I am going to treat everyone as a leper now because I made that one mistake.
