This appeart to be the administration's go to strategy.

They isolate people from contact and will even deport before the start of or during a trial. Then they claim the trial no longer has meaning, as the person has already been deported.

This is wrong on so many levels I cannot comprehend why there is so little civil unrest in the US.

what?? What about at any time in the THREE DAYS that he was detained without charges or contact with anyone or legal representation? If you're detained, you should be released maybe an hour later if there are no charges.
