tell me that you have no idea how air traffic controllers are hired without telling me that you don't know nothing about the process
in europe, it's one of the hardest jobs to get into. you're either born with the skills or not, there are age limits, absolutely no overtime, the selection process is unimaginably thorough, and they are extremely well paid. i have a pretty smart and quick witted it/coder buddy who applied for the job just out of curiosity, he didn't pass round one. you have to have extremely good short term memory, extremely long attention span, you have to be extremely good at multitasking and at coping with internal and external stress. the performance test is fun but fucking difficult, and that's just round one. only the very best are hired as - like the recent news prove if it wasn't obvious for everyone - lives are at stake
i don't know what and why happened but blaming in on the selection process is most probably wrong
