I see them serving a different purpose for smartphones. Opera Mini and Mobile have always focused on faster browsing with minimal data downloaded. It's best when you're using a 2G or a limited 3G connection and want to save bandwidth. It cannot and will not compete with the stock browsers on say iPhone and Android. But it is perfect for Symbian and Sony Ericsson phones whose browsers are pretty shitty compared to Opera.

I have a symbian phone, Im not talking out of nowhere. Yes it's better than the nokia default browser installed but that doesn't say that much now does it.

It freezes out of nowhere even when it's a small sized page you're viewing, you can't save any pics if you want to. Hell you sometimes can't even browse some websites even when the sites are going great while forget logging in here or into any forum for that matter from this browser.

Sometimes the nokia browser comes in more handy, I use it to browse websites that for some mysterious reasons Opera simply doesn't allow me to and to log into forums that I otherwise can't using opera including many other uses.

So no Opera mobile for me at least isn't that good at all, and IMO it's not that ahead of the default browser. The only thing separating Opera from that is the way you'd be able to view a webpage as that of the default browser really is so fucked up.

To each his own. All that matters is that you have a choice of different browsers and that you're not tied down to just one.

Hacked up some javascript. Works in firefox, chrome and opera. Not in ie. Guess what, I'm not about to debug it, go to hell ie.
