If you click on either the Security or the Details tab, you'll find a check box which says 'remember this setting' or something. Check that and approve it, and see if it helps.
It's the motive that matters. Am I customizing to get something that I probably can't get anywhere else? (fun) Or am I customizing to work around annoying defaults? (not fun)

And I think the users Opera need to target is those who leave IE and are looking for a new browser. Not the ones switching from Firefox.
Could be. But I'm a bit sad that my prediction is coming true. I thought konqueror would become big, and it never happened. But now Chromium is out there and Opera just doesn't capitalize on these opportunities, it always gets left behind.
I tried Chrome earlier on, its used to crash every single time. And I was annoyed by the frequently visited sites in place of speed dial. I don't want porn sites to be the first things someone sees when he/she opens my browser
That's actually a good thing. If the browser is dull, you'll concentrate more on the pages it loads. If the browser is pretty, you'll spend more time admiring the browser!
Besides, it's a browser. Do you expect it to perform a lapdance for you while you browse?

Took the plunge and tried to use Chrome as my default browser. Imported bookmarks, installed mouse gestures and Adblock. So far, so good.
Does Chrome have an integrated RSS client? Is there any way I can add a keyword for a search engine, like in Opera and FF? Can I get the start page to have a more Opera feel to it? Like assign the pages myself than let it auto-fill?
