Why would you even bother downlaoding that piece of bloatware? I've not tried Firefox for basically 5 years. It's slower with every release.

But I saw an article about the new beta and yeah, the interface looks quite similar to Opera. But it's not the first time Opera is being copied. They can only wish it retains some of it's functionality.

Honestly, sometimes I think Firefox is so popular merely because of it's name. I feel 85% of Firefox users don't even use the so praised extensions, they just install Firefox because it's the "hip" browser.
    duuuuude, what ridiculous sour grapes

I use firefox and sometimes IE for websites which do not render well in Opera... I read about how Firefox 4 had 'design elements from Chrome'. Well, Chrome decided to borrow heavily from Opera which people don't realize...

Edit: I do understand why people use Firefox. Just that why I personally do not require any or find any use for the add ons...

Maybe, but every time I fix someone's PC I install them Opera and no-one ever minds. Most people don't care really. They use Firefox because it's hip and IE has ill reputation.

But my biggest beef is slowness, Firefox is too heavy and unresponsive for my liking.

I use FF because it looks better than Opera.
    That is so untrue.
It's on par with other apps imo, at least on my box. openoffice on the other hand.. :D
Not on mine, noticeably faster at rendering pages and start-up time as well.

First start-up time on my box:
Chrome - less than a second, almost instantly
    Opera - 2-3 seconds
    Firefox - about 8-10 seconds

But yeah, OOo is the king. Absolutely dreadful.

I don't care that much about startup since I have FF running all the time. I actually start openoffice a lot more times cause I only use it for minutes at a time. But yeah it's slow to start. Pretty ok to use tho

Well it's not that big of a nuisance since I always have it open as well, but it's a matter of principle. I don't have 4GB of DDR2, E8400 so I have to wait 10 seconds for a freaking browser to open. :D

Well, I'm sure you wouldn't give up Opera for Chrome just because it's faster, would you? Ditto I wouldn't give up Firefox. It's not so slow that it bothers me, even tho something else is faster.

I've seen the addons that one of my friends installed. And yes, it does add a lot of functionality to the browser. Totally changes the way you browse and just do things!
I can't live without adblock and flashblock, for instance. Flashblock alone makes the browser a loooooot faster.
