not really, only thing going for it was Pacino and De Niro on the same stage.

The only way having Pacino and Deniro in the same movie is if they're on stage together as little as possible. Like in Godfather 2 and Heat. It's very difficult to have two huge acting presences together in a scene unless one takes a back seat.

went to see "the Baader meinhof complex" last night. interesting as tbh i had little knowledge of the red army faction (RAF) but the film itself is rather chaotic,throwing a massive history lesson in your face without ever really getting behind the story. a very watchable film but over-long and a missed opportunity

Hardly, it was more mysterious, alluding to real magic, but The Prestige was clearly the better overall film. Compelling and clever thriller. While Illusionist though good own its own, was weak in parts with the premise, not to mention the ridicolous "Ja, Ja, Helga!" accents.

I thought the accents were great.I loved Paul Giamatti's accent

The Prestige's ending was average IMO.It builds up brilliantly,but the ending left me dissapointed.The Illusionist on the other hand didnt have the same overall substance as Prestige,but the ending was excellent.

Roll The Prestige's substance and the Illusionist's ending into one..now THAT would have been something.

i have to completely disagree with u on this one ahmed, scarlett def has the better looks but biel has a much hotter body than scarlett :xmas:

Giamatti is one underrated support actor.

Ilussionists Ending = excellent? No way. One could figure out the entire plot an hour before the unfolding.

It's usually mentioned in those top film lists. Certainly the pinnacle of political satire: dark and dry and it's both terrifying and hilarious in equal measures. I can only imagine how much more it resonated with people who witnessed the Cold War first hand.

I haven't seen too much movies to judge if it was the best movie ever but that sure was one of the greatest. Have you watched Paths of Glory?
