****SPOILER WARNING***I'M A WANKER WHO DOESN'T PUT SPOILER WARNING****

dark knight, saw it at the movies.

Mixed feelings. I'm mildly disappointed at how chaotic the plot was. I didn't expect Rachel to die and Aaron Eckhart as Dent was okay but nothing special tbh. Ledger was indeed very solid and the Joker character I really liked. Batman was a bit disappointing, victim of circumstances a bit *too* often. When you're a superhero you're not supposed to just stay the course, you're supposed to have more influence than that.

Also very long and nothing much to justify that.

Good flick and I understand that a lot of the choices they made were to muddle the prospects so you don't know what to expect in the 3rd one. And I take that, but when it affects the movie this much then maybe you're overdoing it.

On the whole I think someone should have strongarmed editing and rewritten the plot for a tidier one.

No. Just no, Martin. Think about it again.

Oh and by the way: you don't understand what Batman's all about. Batman's not a superhero. That's the whole point.

He's a regular guy in a cape. Just trying to help the people.:D
He's not a regular guy, but he's no superhero. Throughout all Batman movies, series and comic books that's the theme. Batman is not like Superman, Spiderman, the X-men.. all of which are more or less interchangeable. Batman is a tormented, lonely and at times cruel man.

Superman and Spiderman are losers in real life for example. But Bruce Wayne's the kind of guy that hops out of a helicopter with four hot chicks around his arms. And another important issue: he doesn't have any superpowers.

The Joker shouldn't have had a detonation mechanism though. It would have made his entire point a lot better. And make one of the boats explode as well. I mean, come on..

P.S: loved the part where that guy tried to blackmail Bruce Wayne :D.

He doesn't have super powers, but he is a superhero. I mean otherwise we need some other name for "guys like him", so what then?

Yes he's tormented and lonely, so what? Superheroes can't be?

Most aren't. Not for the reasons Bruce Wayne is anyway. What they should have highlighted a bit more was Batman's cruelty though. He's not like Superman, he wants to hurt his adversaries every now and then.

The thing is, whereas all superheroes are about the exact same thing: some average joe becoming great when he puts on a costume, Batman is very different. He's no average joe, he's Bruce Wayne FFS.

But anyway, the movie got it spot on. It's by far the best Batman movie ever made and I think there were few flaws. The ones you summed up are very debatable IMO.

I have no problem with that. And I still think they could make him more cruel and still get a better plot out of it than this.

I liked the first one better. It had a clearer "point A to point B" progression. I also think this one lacked intensity.

True. They could make him more cruel and get a better plot out of it, but I never expected them to. It is a blockbuster in the end.

Hmm.. I like the fact that it's a bit chaotic and that there is no clear victory whatsoever, but that's personal I guess.

One can only hope they don't make a movie with Twoface though. Twoface was a great character in some of the Batman series, but I don't think you can pull of a movie based on the guy.

Personally I've never read the comics. But if you're big on the comic then you're fighting a losing battle. Movies never live up to the expectations of those who love the books or comics. At best they can give you something to love in the first movie and then follow up in the sequel. Which they sort of did.

Did you maybe love the Batman movies out of the 90s? Cause I like these a whole lot better.

Those were rubbish, though I did enjoy Batman Returns.
