There is going to be a 4th installment of the Bourne series. I wonder what they are going to do with it now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! bad enough they threw away ludlums genius cat-and-mouse game with carlos the jackal but they should elave the "franchise" alone befoer bourne becomes america's bond

You know what, i'll give Bourne one more chance, i'll watch the Bourne Ultimatum, even though i expect it to be like the ones before it.

Depends on what you expect from it. It's supposed to be a spy movie and I love those. Unfortunately there aren't many of them being made, so Bourne is rather precious in that sense. I know it could be better but I'm happy with it anyway.

Will anybody remember, let alone mention the Bourne trilogy in 20 years?

I doubt it.

(Except if they make it a bond franchise that is, but it would not be remembered for the quality of the film then, would it?)

Who the hell cares about that? I don't go around trying to remember 20 year old movies.

The Godfather's are from the 70's, and Scarface is from the 80's, as in Rambo and Rocky, these are the films that are remembered, and are classics

I agree with Dominic over Scarface. The only people who call it their favourite movie ever are kids who just reached puberty and are wannabe big shots who try acting like Tony Montana in real life.It had one of Pacino's greatest performances ever, but frankly as a movie, its pretty average.

And i dont know how i get into Pacino and De Niro debates so fucking often.

My point is that Scarface did pass the "test of time" Dominic is referring to,
but that doesn't make it a good movie.

PS in all honesty tho it has one of the coolest quotes and dialogues of all times :D

The greatest test is the test of time. When a movie passes that test, you know you've got a great movie.
First of all, different people remember different things. What movie do you remember from 1988? Only one I got is Die Hard, does that make it a classic?

Secondly, it's by no means the case that the best movies get remembered, merely the loudest ones. The Matrix will be remembered because it was so different. That doesn't mean it's the best movie.

Either way why would I care whether a movie I enjoy today is going to pass through some narrow keyhole through a process subject to various uncontrolled circumstances into the world of classics? I seek out "classics" now and then to see what people are so excited about and there's a lot of junk among them.
