The book is phenomenal, it really helps you to understand McCandless and why he did the things he did and why others have done similar things. The guy who wrote it also wrote Into Thin Air. He wrote the original article for Outside after McCandless died in 1992. I highly recommend it. I haven't seen the movie but I did read most of the script, just enough to tell that it is very true to the book.

I think this is one of the few movies where the lead was probably bigger than the movie itself.Bale was simply outstanding.Why he wasnt nominated for an Oscar s beyond me.The ending of the movie left me a little confused though.Bateman kills Allen,but his Lawyer claims having lunch with him recently.I couldnt really figure that bit out.

I've heard that reading the book is much more fascinating than the movie because big parts of the book is the guys thoughts and his thoughts.

Ive been trying to buy the book,but i havent been able to find it here as yet.I think books,in most cases,are probably better than their movie adaptations.

It just means that Bale is not realy a serial killer, but a guy who fnatasizes about killing people. So he's not a psychppathi muderer, but he is a man with a twisted fantasy. I think this means hat all of his murders were imagined, which makes him innocent of the crimes he committed.

I totally agree with you, bale's performance was impeccable through and through.

The entire movie (the murders that is) were like a dream sequence. Meaning they never happened, he only dreamt/fantasized about killing. Plus I don’t think a cat could really fit in an ATM machine slot

Please the person who suggested that "Brick" was a good movie please own up, because that was probably the worst movie I have ever seen. Pathetic movie, they try to use complicated vocab to make the movie appear smart, deep, and thoughtful where in reality it is no where near. All the characters are "dark" in attempt to be "cool", they weren't. A failed attempt at trying to make a dark underground classic.
It was a horrible experience and I will never get those 2 hours back. Stay away from it.
