The best western ever, after The Good, The Bad..., is definetly Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid. It's not a typical western, has lots of humour in it, but a very entertaining movie.
Paul Newman and Robert Redford. 10/10.
Also, Magnificent Seven with Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson. Typical western and very good.

his trilogy of; A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly are the best westerns ever made,
Once Upon a Time in the West, Once Upon A Time in America and A Fistful of Dynamite are good enough too.
Also note:
Death Rides a Horse
Day of Anger
Big guns talk
The Mercenary
Sabata and a few lame one starring Terence Hill and Bud Spencer.
There are a few modern ones worth mentioned too but i only accept one as a part of the same category:
The Quick and the Dead
