The battle of Thermpoyale where some 300 Spartans fought like 100,000 invading Persians. The movie is based on a graphic novel "300" by Frank Miller though, the same guy who wrote Sin City.

just saw 300 and i must say that it is everything in terms of style and action but do not expect anything in terms of plot and character build
