I have just watched Oppenheimer and I'm starting to think that Nolan could make a movie about growing grass and I would still watch it with great excitement and anticipation.

Dude is a genius.

Just watched They Cloned Tyrone. Started well but become really interesting around the half way mark.

Too many average movies are getting 90%+ on Rotten Tomatoes these days and don't deserve the crital acclaim.

Is it me or have movies got progressively worst each year for the last 5/6 years?

I thought it was kinda boring, at least in comparison with Nolan's other movies. Don't think I'll be rewatching it anytime soon. While I've watched Interstellar like 10 times already.

It may seem boring but take a moment and consider what is this movie about. It's 3 hours of scientists, soldiers and politicians talking about science or politics with one explosion. There is literally no action whatsoever. And when you think about it, there really is not much tension, but the way Nolan shoots it, it builds the tension through the music, the cuts and of course the acting. Any other film maker makes a movie about this and it ends his career.

    The Equalizer 3

It had a unique twist compared to the first two films, being set in Italy. I liked it. If it had a different name, you'd think it's a whole new movie. It was cool to see Dakota Fanning and Denzel together again.

    Sound of Freedom

I highly recommend this movie to anyone with children.

The movie bravely tackles the issue of child trafficking involving influential figures with mental disorders. It's no wonder the film received such high ratings. The performances by the children were outstanding and moving.

just learned that this existed. a 15 minute long scorsese short film de niro, brad pitt and di caprio, that was officially rarely available outside of china (only once, at a korean film festival). back story is that in china you can't advertise casinos, so they found a loophole and made this short film with an obscene budget which was shown before actual movies in theaters. the actors allegedly got 13m for a 2-day job lol

    Top3 zombie movies?

My toddler is going through a sleep crisis and I need smth to watch when she's waking up at 2am
How about you record some Juventus games? :snoop:

The Return Of The Living Dead, cause it's hilarious,
The original Dawn Of The Dead (1978), for shits and giggles, then the Dawn Of The Dead remake from 2004.

28 Days (and weeks) Later, if you count them as Zombies.

Land Of The Dead, for Dennis Hopper as the villain.

    Train To Busan, cause asian.

    - - - Updated - - -

Resident Evil series, cause Milla Jovovich is hot.

    1. Dawn of the Dead (1978)
    2. Train to Busan
    3. Night of the living dead (1968)

The crazies is underrated and worth a watch.
Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland are fun.

28 weeks later has one of the best opening scenes to any movie ever but it's all down hill after that.

I watched 28 days later again recently and It wasn't as good as I remembered. Great soundtrack though.

Phenomenal movie, one of the best directed films I've seen in the last few years.
Funny enough it's one of these movies that would bore the shit out of me when I was in my twenties.
    Very sad. Loved it.

For some reason it was marketed as comedy. It's not and it's also one of the very few movies that touches on the subject of men's loneliness.

I've watched it few weeks after my Dad died and I cried like a bitch in the cinema. Broke me for the rest of the day.
Amazing, in terms of acting and script.

Has there been any good movies released this year?

Hard to say with stream services being lacking for movies and cinema releases on downward trend. I tried out The Creator on cinema few days ago, first 2/3rds of the movie was compelling dystopic sci fi World built up. But the rest felt so rushed and weak writing that it half ruined the whole experience.

I'm not looking forward to anything but Dune 2 for now.
