There's no way to determine if it's real or not. He's a psycho, not insane, so I never had any reason to believe he imagined the stuff, except at the end with his lawyer. But I put that down to the lawyer really not knowing that he was talking to his client--like with everyone else in the movie not even knowing the names of the colleagues they were dining/drinking with, as an exaggeration of that group of society's selfcentredness.

But there are some pretty blatant pointers throughout the movie, suggesting that it's not real. For example, while he is dragging Paul Allen's body in the Jean Paul Gautier bag he is leaving a huge bloody trail through the lobby of his building. When he blows up the cop car by shooting at it, he is himself looking at the gun wondering "is this really happening". When he throws the buzzsaw at the fleeing prostitute there is a pretty long scene where she is running through the building banging on the doors - someone would probably have reacted.

I saw a quote from the book's author that Bateman does in fact kill people otherwise the story would have been pointless in his eyes. as we saw things through bateman's eyes, imo, it seems that even he isn't sure who he actually kills and what is just in his fantasies and as his psychosis deepens he isnt even aware who he is anymore in the ending scene.

Going to watching something now. Can't decide between Her, Nebraska, Captain Philips, 12 years a slave and Inside Lewyn Davis.

Watched Gravity last night and loved it. Wasn't impressed with American Hustle but Bradley Cooper was great. The Wolf of Wall Street is still the best movie I have seen this year so far. I liked Dallas Buyers Club but mainly just because of the great acting.

Grand Budapest Hotel was a really enjoyable movie, great cast (Ralph Fiennes especially) and a nice balance between drama and comedy.

I can only enjoy Wes Andersons movies when im really stoned like his style but his movies can be very boring at times. I will give this new one a try soon though.

Out of all the films I listed I watched Lone Survivor. Probably the best 'army' film I've seen in years. Ben foster is a great actor and seriously underrated. Brilliant in everything he has been in.
