It takes getting used to, certain movements felt awkward within the frame, but in general way way better 3D experience then anything not called Avatar. Didnt go into it expecting anything out of the ordinary, but that it was double the usual in FPS was very new experience.

Not true. It was shown in 24 FPS in 3D as well. As a matter of fact, I saw it in 24 FPS in 3D.
Wasn't aware of that. Around here all I've seen advertised is 3D 48FPS and 2D 24FPS.

Not that it actually matters, just trying to sort whether it is worth seeing at the faster frame rate.

Granted I'm not a huge fan of 3D. But if it's done really well, I'll check it out.
To be honest I'd go watch it in 3D 48 fps if you aren't a big fan of the LOTR trilogy. If you are a big fan and you are expecting a lot from the movie, I would watch it in 24 fps - because you are going to use some time getting used to the different technology (at least, that's what everybody says).

I'll probably see it in 2D and then think about the 48 fps.
