Im so pissed about that one. The best director category was so good this year. What Wes Anderson did for The Grand Budapest Hotel was genius. Gone Girl and Birdman were brilliantley directed too. This shmuck takes 12 years to put a pretencious piece of shit movie together and critics suck his dick for it?

Best actor in a comedy was so stacked i was rooting for Ralph Fiennes or Bill Murray but Keaton was a worthy winner.

It's not nominated in the same category as Grand Budapest Hotel and Birdman so at least you won't complain about that. :D
True. If it gets the Academy Award i will be real pissed though. the golden globe for best picture in a drama isn't really that special. I will be happy if anything other that it wins.

Was suprised at that too. I thought Grand Budapest was a better movie though so i'm happy with that decision.

Damn wanted Jake Gyllenhaal to win that one. Eddie Redmayne will be forgotten in a few years.

I don't care about awards, but saw the flick two days ago and it was thoroughly wonderful gem. Not just style over substance as most Wes Anderson flicks has been like lately.

Just watched Inherent Vice one of my most anticipated movies of the year. I really didn't understand the movie at all, there were a few scenes i found very funny but for most of the film i was just lost and confused. I will definatly have to watch it again only i think i will need to be pretty fucking high.

Why are people so excited about Grand Budapest Hotel?
Visually stunning, great cast, great acting (especially ralph fiennes), interesting characters, interesting story that moved at a good pace and over all just a fun movie to watch.

Basically the opposite of that boring, pretentious, horribly over rated piece of of shit movie Boyhood.

Joaquin Phoenix was brilliant in Inherent Vice btw; probably my favourite stoner hippy since Jeff Bridges in the Big Lebowski. It is worth watching again even for his performance alone.

Just because it has those attributes that doesn't make it a mainstream movie... i didn't think it was mainstream at all and even if it was that shouldn't make it any less of a movie.
