gangs of new york was awesome. In the name of the father?? have never heard abt it..
Its brilliant. Was nominated for 7 academy awards including best Picture and best actor in a leading role for DDL. Its a true story about the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the IRA's Guildford pub bombing which killed four off-duty British soldiers and a civilian. Check it out ;)

oops :p and thank you so much, i actually thought of you tonight as i glanced on the new additions on netflix' watch it now, jules and jim was one of them also ikiru by kurosawa have you seen it?
Nope, unfortunately. I've seen Rashomon and Ran of Kurosawa. I've planned to watch Seven Samurai for almost three years now but the movie length is just keeping me from really going for it :p

Run Lola Run - Very refreshing movie. I liked the direction very much
Great movie

It's kinda disturbing how some little purposeless changes in the most unimportant details of our lives could change the whole path.

There Will Be Blood - Brilliant movie. DDL :delpiero:
Can anybody suggest some good DDL movies?
He's too selective on picking up the roles so as Vlatko already said, you can be sure that you'll see an excellent movie whenever he stars in one. My Left Foot, The Unbearable Lightness of Being and In the Name of Father are all brilliant movies.

Ashes of Time, the master auter that is Wong Kar Wai making an unusual film for him, period piece with fancy action swordfights, but rest mainly true to his standard of heartfelt and poetically wonderful tale about lost love, depicts it very uniquely (5 acts based on the seasons, rounds up in full circle), with his usual cast of great actors in Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung and Leslie Cheung. In general the film is very beautifully done, unique shots and views

Surrogates, good sci fi idea, but thats it :sergio:

The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans - Deneb you were right, what a trippy crazy good movie, there is being fucked up, and there is being this Nic Cage character hehe, excellent performance by him, lol at soul dance

I was wondering when it ended, who the heck did this trippy movie, that the style is familiar, some no name new director or something perhaps, but I see in end credits its Werner Herzog and everything suddenly makes perfect sense :D

Despite Ahmed warning me not to, I've watched Crank : High Voltage. Some great ideas & individual scenes I felt, but as a movie it falls somewhat short. I had some difficulties to remain focused at times.

Also watched Monsters vs Aliens. One of the funniest animated movies I've seen in a long time. Even though the movie is aimed at kids, I really appreciated the absurd humour & the 80ies references.
