Between work & the World Cup going on, I really don't have enough time to watch my regular crap

Though I did make some time over the weekend to watch GI Joe. Absolutely terrible mess of a film. Or as Ken would say: "oh boy" :D

While yesterday I found the time to nurture my inner child by watching Bolt before the Italy game. Was okay I guess, not particularly good or bad.

I've not watched a single movie since the WC started. I'll probably get around to it when the group stages finish.

Looking forward to watching Green Zone.

Yeah, not having enough time to watch movies is the only downside to a big tournament. Well, that & the mostly crappy games so far.

I hope you don't have high expectations for Green Zone though. I did, and that somewhat ruined it for me. Decent movie, but I expected a lot better from Greengrass / Damon.

Indeed, I'm really looking forward to IC and Portugal today, though. But look on the bright side, substituting crappy movies with crappy football ain't that big of a deal. :p

I'm expecting something on-par with the Bourne movies. :frown:

I won't be able to watch the Portugal game, I'm afraid. I'll still be at work. I already took time off yesterday to watch the Dutch & that wasn't really worth it.

That's what I was expecting as well. It isn't imo.

Bah, I get off work just in time to get home and catch kick-off. I expect this one to be very good and my tip is Ivory Coast winning it. :eyebrows:

Oh well, at least I'm warned now.

Despite the WC going on, I still managed to squeeze 2 movies into my weekend:

The Taking of Pelham 123 - the remake. Meh. Pretty much what I expected. Some flashy editing, moderately entertaining plot, passable acting, ... The original is quite a lot better.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona - Not bad. Compared to Woody Allen's recent work, this is a huge step forward. I was somewhat annoyed by Penelope Cruz though. Her character obviously, not so much her looks...

Oh I watched Get Smart. I thought it was pretty good for that genre and Steve Carrell was awesome. Not to mention Anne Hathaway literally blew me away. She was hot in this. Not like her at all.

Green Zone, solid enough, but nowhere near any of the Bourne's. Expected more and should have been more.

Just seen Robin Hood an hour ago, I gotta say Ridley Scott knows how to make entertaining movies! it was a lot like Gladiator and Kindgom of Heaven, with a few -I think- changes in historic facts and overrating of people making them look like heroes and ruining the image of others, but still I really enjoyed it and liked the idea of the story not being about his outlaw life, but the one before that
