I am glad someone mentioned this award. I would like to raise a question of discussion about it.

What is a decisive player and how is a player called most decisive. According to my knowledge and conception of the term, it is given to the player who madfe the winning goal (when a game is won by a one goal difference) or the player who equalized when we his team was down with one goal. Is there any other situation where a player is considered decisive? I think not.

SO for now our most decisive player has been Trezeguet this season (goal against Chievo and goal against Brugge)

Here is the question, what if we win a game with two or more goals, then there is no decisive player considered, then who is given the credit for such a game? Or no one is given a credit there? And why? If the team wins 2-0 and two different players scored, who is considered decisive? I think no one.

This is why I consider this title complete Mamothscheisse.

Well you could say that in a match ending 2-0, the first goal is more important than the second, because it changes the status quo, while the second only widens the gap. The first goal is also "more difficult" to score sometimes.

Well, is the player who scored that first goal given a plus to be in the most decisive list?

And here's another question, considering the game against Brugge, who is considered more decisive Nedved or Trezeguet?

I think Trez would edge Nedved by a bit, considering Brugge would've equalized if he didn't score..
In the end we get to the fact that the 'Most decisive player' award is simply subjective and has nothing to do with what has been going on in the game.

it's like Mariano Rivera for the yanks, he'sclutch comes in gets things done, he's not the MVP but the team wouldnt be as successful without him...mmh that sounds as if those titles are overlapping...

He should be MVP, actually. :)

A-rod is MVP but without Rivera they wouldn't have as many wins so he's decisive when it comes to results.
    I stand corrected. :)

1.5 back--we may just pull it off. :)

you can't choose one between them.
if Nedved didn't score the first goal,Trez might not score the second one,and if Trez didn't score the second, the match might end in a draw.

That's the whole point of this discussion, there is simply no ONE decisive player, thus the award is false.
