I'm weirded out by this thread from post #1. I'd think I'd have something to say but I have no response.
What has weirded you out? (this is not an accusation at you) I hate it when people dont bother replying to something that have a view about, how am i as a person meant to develop and evolve my ideology when people are so apathetic about debating.

First time someone has called me apathetic about debating.

I do have a lot of opinions in the general area of this thread but nothing in particular has posed an issue I wanted to respond to, which I expected it to do. Hence weirded out.

I'm fairly certain its because the topic is to him pointless, then again if I were to talk for martin I think the Universe would implode.

If the governement doesnt represent the citizens ideals, why do the citizens elect them? Are they just thick?

And why are you an agnostic?
elections are rigged. The last time a person ran for presidency against the current one he was prisoned. his name was Ayman Nour. We are in the middle east (north africa technically) we do not have the human rights you enjoy. We are not a democracy.
Public opinion has nothing to do with Government work. Things are getting better though but really slowly.. we now have less censorship than we used to (but still its pretty tight) .. they now leave us to speak out as long as its not really threatening the system.
TV, radio, newspapers, books, movies.. all censored. as i said its slightly getting better as we can now speak out more than we used to but either way no one listens.
80% of the movies i watch that involve religion, politics, homosexual rights etc. regardless of its nature (comedy or serious) are banned. I gotta download them through torrents to be able to watch them.

As for why i am an agnostic, thats a long talk..
Believe it or not i am not as dumb as my username here suggests. I am actually a philosophy & Business Marketing Double major at the best university in the entire region AUC.
If you want to go into a long discussion about religion, i wouldn't mind. Just ask

Speaking of reason, you seem a reasonable guy. Either agree with me or your not reasonable, no middle ground either. We have to agree with you.

Very reasonable person indeed.
First things first, in a reasoned discussion theists never stick to reason, ever

When trying to prove something, say a law of thermodynamics, do you see somebody saying, Im open to the idea of it exsisting but I have yet to see enough evidence, no you do not.Whichever side has the most credible evidence is right, saying that both sides make valid point is ridiculous. I never said that Theists are unreasonalbe people, but they can't hold a reasoned discussion about theism, by the very nature of the word Theist.

the core rule is: you MUST prove, not disprove, everything is assumed false until proven or continuosly held up in sceintific tests (in the form of hypotheses). Fence sitting on a matter of the cocrete exsistance of something is just plain silly.

You're mixing "reasonable" with reason. "reasonable" has a wider meaning. It means not only that which derives from reason, but also that which emanates from good manners and good will towards other people. You can be diplomatic with people, which will be perceived as "reasonable", without acting according to reason.

thats why i wanted to talk to him about it lol
I am a tea-pot agnostic in the sense of my inability to make a judgment about the existence of something beyond our current grasp of science (note that i do not give the possibility of a super power's existence an equal probability of its none-existence... its not a 50/50... more of a 95% atheist, 5% agnostic) . I am atheist in the sense that i see deep flaws in the Abrahamic religions and i reject them. And i have remnants of agnosticism given our inability to make an absolutely certain judgment.

is this the kind of detail you wanna know? or rather the process of me leaving religion?
