Yes. It ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY is. Why? Because it's an argument.

It works like this:

Allah just might be God. You can't prove he is, you can't prove he isn't. Following the same principle I just might be God as well. You can't prove I am, you can't prove I'm not.

If I'm God I can demand axlrose to fuck himself in the ass. I'm God, he should obey if he believes in me. If he doesn't believe in me, which he obviously does, then he can go on with his life without any Padolike activities.

Even though I agree with the ban because he had it coming, Zlatan's demeanor on this forum has certainly changed since he has received the power. I sort of expected him to become a bit too full of himself with being a mod, and he unfortunately has..

I disagree, Zlatan has always been full of himself and if anything he's holding back, I expected him to be more reckless than this.

Swag is a great guy,but I never seen him acting like a mod,I never seen him warning anyone.we need at least 2 more mods,and these Bans should be decided by all mods (voting between them).

I hate to fuel this debate, but for reference, here's Seven's entire collection of posts (pre-ban) on this thread. (All emphasis his - these are unedited)

What are the chances of the Bible, the Qu'ran or the Thora being completely or even partially right? No more than one in a billion. Why? Because all three of them were written down by human beings. Well, not exactly, human beings who said they themselves were "inspirated" by a superior being. Of course it's impossible to prove this and the only argument they have is their own word.

Add to that their probable shabby mental state. Why I call them crazy? Let's see, how would you define a guy that strolls around telling people he's the son of God? That's right, you would call him a lunatic. So not only is the only "evidence" we have of their writings being correct their own word, it's also the word of a lunatic.

Furthermore they started from scratch. It seems improbable they were inspired by a superior being, as I proved above, so we can accept that. Thus these three religions are based on human invention.

Now may I ask you what's the likeliness of a human invention about a superior being being completely right? Yep, no more than one in a billion billion.

Oh and for the record, anyone who still fully believes in God has arrived at the point where the Greek were 3000 years ago. Bravo!

You see, they used myths to explain the world and to explain social differences. The fact that this was the world and these were the social differences "proved the myth". e.g.: "I am bigger than you, thus the myth of me being bigger than you because one of my ancestors killed one of your ancestors must be true.". Any rational person would respond with: "HUH?" But that's not what religious people do.

Not really true. Religion consists of myths. A Roman myth tells us African people are black, because the son of Helios once took his car and had a joyride. Science did disprove that, don't you think?

All I'm saying is that with the means we have and with the unlikeliness of the Qu'ran, the Bible and the Thora being right, believing is isn't the smartest and most logical thing to do. Chances of it being wrong are a billion minus one, chances of it being right are one in a billion. Hmm, what would I pick?

It is. But the point was that christianity is founded on myths as well. I was trying to discard myths as arguments.

Agreed. But people who believe shouldn't act like they know it all (this isn't aimed at you btw). Because for all I see, they are nothing different than people who lived thousands of years ago. They aren't any more evolved than those. So they should also stop acting as if monotheism is a more evolved form of religion than polytheism.

Look, axl, you can believe in whatever God you want to, but saying the Qu'ran was not written by man is disregarding all sense of logic. (And if God did exist, why would he bless us with a sense of logic that disregarded something like that?)

About the argument "you can't prove you're right either", I'll say just this:

God himself told me yesterday I was the greatest man EVER. He even told me I was his son. Then he went on about how I should start a new religion, but only after I've written down every word he dictates me.

I'm just as believable as The Prophet or Jesus to be frank. You can't prove I'm lying.

And come to think about it, I'll go really far in this one. I believe that no religion based on a book is worth believing. That's right, I spit on the beliefs of catholics, moslims and whoever truly believe in something written down by man. However, I support people who believe in the existence of God and try to fill their lives as they please. Being religious is a human reflex and a good one for all I care, but believing a book is fucked up.

I'm not sure about this and I might be wrong, but didn't Mohammed admit he wrote the Qu'ran? I though he wrote it through divine inspiration, but did admit he actually wrote it himself when talking about the act itself.

The second part I highligthed is a LIE. The chances of it being written by man (which it 100% in a clinical way) are a billion minus one. The chances of it being written by man through divine inspiration are one in a billion. Not exactly equal if you ask me.
