Juve lose sight of Jankulovski
Friday 9 July, 2004

Marek Jankulovski’s proposed switch to Juventus has been put on hold after Udinese dubbed the offer “entirely inadequate.”

The Czech Republic midfielder, who played in Euro 2004 as a full-back, has been in their transfer plans for several months.

After negotiations throughout the summer, it was reported that the weekend would see the deal finally completed in exchange for £2.5m cash plus co-ownership of either Matteo Brighi or Alessandro Parisi.

However, this evening Udinese representatives told journalists camped outside their headquarters that “Juve’s offer is entirely inadequate.”

Another meeting with director general Luciano Moggi is planned for next week, but he will be forced to raise the Bianconeri bid considerably.

27-year-old Jankulovski’s fine performance in the European Championships improved his international profile and there is plenty of overseas interest from Tottenham and a selection of Spanish sides.

If he went to Juve it would mean getting closer to home but batle for a starting spot. He would be very happy to join us because we are a great team.

If he went to Roma he would be with Prandelli.

He hopes they make a deal soon.

He will present himself anyway to Parma's training camp and in August leave for the Olympics.

If he went to Madrid he would have to battle for a starting spot.

gilardino says that at real and juve he would have to fight for a starting place, while at roma he knows he would play regularly.

Gilardino: "With the Juve I would approach house" the forward: "But I would have to fight for a place" CONNECTING ROD? to?Giocare in the Juventus? Not to only it goes me well because she is a great square, but also because I could return close to house. Alberto Gilardino, the more valuable piece of the market, expresses this judgment from Connecting rod, where this evening has been rewarded with the?Sigillo of gold? of the Lauretana. not to cant itself, the bomber of Under 21 it is augured that its situation?si clears in the next few days. - it adds - Sunday I will regularly introduce the gathering of the Parma, with which I have a contract until 2006, and 2 August I will leave for the Olympic Games with the national one of Kind. Gilardino knows also that the Rome and the Real Madrid would aspire to have it in their row: Rome I would find again Prandelli with which I have worked this year much good - says - but the Real is a greatest club. Rome I would have more possibility than to play, while to the Juventus and to the Real I would have to conquer the place, it still emphasizes Gilardino, but then it is understood that this would not be absolutely an obstacle.

i read on sports.it that the deal between juventus and lazio for oddo is agreed, and the player could be officially presented as juve player in monday. juve will offer 7 mil euros and one of birindelli and iuliano.

It doesn't say it's done though.

we 're being linked with jankulovski, emerson and oddo and none of them are centrebacks which are the positions most sorely needing fresh blood.

moggi better knows what he's doing cos i sure as hell don't.
we have needed new centre backs for a number of years...al we got was leggo...hmm moggi may need to wake up to the fact we have crap defenders.

7m + Birindelli for Oddo would be a horrible deal. Considering that we could have gotten both Mexes and Ferrari for about the same price, 7m even without Biri is too much. 4m + Iuliano would be my offer.
