Conte had obviously decided he had to play with a back four in that game.

With Lichtsteiner out, there wasn't anyone else to play right back.

I would also suggest Caceres' natural fitness may be rather better than Vucinic's, which means he can get back to playing that much quicker.

So long as Tevez doesn't get injured in the next couple of games, I see no reason to even contemplate bringing Vucinic back in so quickly.

That was pure desperation coupled with the fact that Caceres had been training with the team for a while up to the game, IIRC.

But I don't like the idea of him on the left side of a 3-man attack against a team like Real. I guess I just don't trust him enough.
