I don't know why confidence is misconstrued as arrogance.

Plenty of people can be confident without being arrogant.

However, seeing Quagliarella shooting from 50+ yards out regularly and the way he then goes and moans at other players when they choose not to pass to him makes me think he may well be someone who crosses the line between confidence and arrogance.
