Pogba and Pjanic are very different types of CMs. Pjanic is a true playmaker, hes passing the ball around, dictating the game and hes in the key position in this formation with all our creative sources around him - Bonucci behind him, Dani and Cuadrado to the right, Dybala and Higgy infront - since we attack mostly through the right side and use long passes to Mandzukic/AS to switch the play, his playmaking ability is key for this system to work as well as it does. Pogba is different, hes a mezzala type of CM, he will try to do things on his own more often, dribble, shoot from distance etc., he also need much more time on the ball and slows down the ball movement with holding the ball for too long at times, so you need to build your formation around him for him to be effective. Pjanic wasnt able to play the Pogba role in our 352 and likewise, Pogba wouldnt be able to play the Pjanic role in this system, hed play the Khedira role but only if he was willing to sacrifice his time on the ball and work his ass off defensively
