They figured him out 2-3 games into his Serie A career. He was being double and even triple marked at times yet he was on hot form and it didn't matter. It's not as if he was doing anything unusually difficult or spectacular. His game was always, in the beginning at least, simple, direct, with exceptional pace and good positional sense with regard to where he could cut/drift in, stay wide, and so forth.

For whatever reason, he's in a slump. I think perhaps the latter half of last season can be attributed to fatigue, which is definitely reasonable considering his nonstop series of games. Speaking of which, he wasn't even that bad at the time. I think people are revising history a little bit here for the sake of hyperbole so they can claim he's "been shit for a year." Obviously he dipped last season but it probably seems more drastic when juxtaposed with the crazy level he was playing at earlier.

His bad form now, though? That's something to do with Conte. I'm sure of it. Clearly they don't mesh well. He seems to be having serious problems "getting" the instructions from the trainer. Let alone following them through. Combined with all this media frenzy surrounding him, negatively, it's had an adverse effect on his confidence and you can see it so obviously.

Anyway, we've seen two sides to him. Unstoppable and lost. A very good winger lies in the middle, somewhere. I see no reason to give up on the chance of recapturing that player especially in light of the Pepes and Giaccherinis that are the alternatives. Besides, he's not exactly a big issue when you consider the other problems in the squad that absolutely must be addressed before we start thinking of selling players that actually can contribute (now or a bit later).

You couldnt have said it any better. And I do agree with you when you say people are over exaggerating his "shit half of the season" last season. If memory serves me correctly, he still scored 2 or 3 post January and had a couple of assists. He clearly wasnt better than what he was from Aug-Dec, but he still contributed quite well.

I'd hold on to him, he is clearly a good player and one who can be effective to us once his form/confidence comes back and he gets used to Conte's system.

There actually isn't much exaggeration when some are saying Krasic has been bad for 12 months because he has been. In this time, Krasic has been rarely able to beat his marker, make an assist, or do anything that is remotely dangerous. Added to that he rarely comes back to help the defence, and when he does, you can see he's only there to pretend to be doing something, not actually putting in any serious effort to help out. Matri seems to help the defence out more.

Krasic has been below-par for quite a while and it reminds me of the way he played during the world cup, weak and clueless.

I would still give him until June before contemplating a sale though.

it's pretty simple to explain his "slump" of form... in the past (when "on form") krasic got the ball at the middle line of the pitch or in our own half and had acres of space behind the player he wanted to get past. its pretty easy to just play the ball 10 metres past the defender and chase it, because it was very far away from the goal line. in the new formation krasic gets the ball and the corner of the opponents box and has exactly the 12+ metres until the goal line to go past his man which does not fit his talents... in that small room someone with close ball control like estigarribia is more fitted to bring something to the table... thats also the reason why pepe does not get past his marker on the wing... it's just much more difficult to beat a marker without being able to have much space to go around a defender and without the skill of close ball control

Pepe might not be the ideal winger, but that guy puts 110% in EVERY game he plays. He tries hard and when he loses possession he actually tries to get the ball back, something that Krasic seems too lazy to do.

I've been saying this for so long He also would drift into the middle or on the left. Now he stays strictly high up the byline. No space to run, less options to move and pass. He should be given a more free role playing deeper and be allowed to drift.

I love how you totally missed the entire point, but i've figured you out some time ago. When did I not recognize that Krasic hasn't been playing well? It's not my fault you're short sighted & can't recognize that we have more pressing issues at hand to fix, considering we're playing a 4-3-3 formation that doesn't require Krasic at this point in time.
