here is their defence. Can you name a better defence than this on paper???

--------------------------Toldo----------------------------
Zanetti----------Chivu--------Cannavaro--------Coco

I mean its blummin amazing to say the least, yet they always concede more than both milan and juve.

Coco isn`t such a great defender when defending; same can be said about Zanetti who`s much better going forward than defending.

Cannavaro had quite a poor season least year when compared to his previous seasons, in fact there were talks of him going to Barca or Real this summer.

Cordoba is good but inconsistent.

I don't know where you're going on Zanetti, he's about the best right back in the world with the possible exception of thuram. Extremely difficult to get past or stop.

The rest I agree with, but like I said its all "on paper"

The element of teamwork and *shape* is just as important as individual element. Inter has good individuals but players can't complement each other. Canna, Cordova is too small for defensive partnership and Materazzi isn't in their league. I think Coco is overrated, and I would prefer defensively immature but attacking and aggresive full-back Pasquale. Personally, if I was Inter GM, I would buy Stam and switch Cordova to LB, or Canna to RB, and play Zanetti as RM.
Anyway, Zanetti is good defender, so I wouldn't mind any position he takes as long as he can launch those attacking displays.

Nevertheless, we know Moratti will have fits for forward sometime, and bring in unnecessary but high profile player.;) when they probably need LM and CB.

Zanetti is better as a midfielder where he can dribble past players and open spaces for his team mates.

Last year his defending skills were exposed by Miccoli, when during an action with Perugia attacking, Miccoli had the ball and was one on one with Zanetti. Perugia were winning 4-1 so Miccoli was trying to act cool, and he went close to the corner flag. There he made many faints, and dribbled Zanetti a total of 3 times in the same move before crossing to the middle. Let's hope to see him do that this year too :D

Personally I would prefer to use Zanetti as RM mainly because he is such a good attacking player. There aren't many wingers that is actually better than him in attacking department never mind defensive wise.
However, with Current Inter team, I think they will have gaping hole on DR if Zanetti plays RM unless Canna fill in the role, which means Materazzi would have get mins. I prefer Van der Meyde than Materazzi.

I quite like Van der Meye, and especially his speed. However, I just feel sorry for him to join such a terribly organized club. It is hard for a foreigner to join or well run club never mind poorly managed like Inter.;).
Imagine the no. of languages they have to learn with such cosmopolitan lineup.;)

I think this season was the first season that Inter bought sensibly. They needed wingers and they obtained them, now Cuper has no more excuses. It's a do or die season.

and it will be very hard for him to compete for a starting lineup place. there are so many midfielders in Inter squad! I think they overbought
And they will find ways for players to scrue it up!:D. However, I just have a feeling they might have got it right this year. The core remained intact for once, and they added quality role players to fatten up already loaded bench and to solve the imbalances in the previous squads. They are very dangerous this year, IMO.

Why can't you guys just lay off? Can't you see I'm just an insecure Rossonero taking on a whole juve forum all by myself because deep in my heart I know everything Milan achieved last season was a total fluke and if the God of football was fair, Juventus would have secured a famous treble.

:blah:
are you for real?
it seems lots of stuff happened when i left..

Well, I cannot make any assumptions as to how our team will fancy winning trophies next season until I actually see them play.

But its so sad because I only get to see them play during the Champions League. And that's along time from now.

But if a lot of you guys are saying that we have a pretty compact team now, I'm taking my co-club fans' word for it.

Is it only me that gets incredibly irritated when Inter sign all thse gun players? Two reasons

1. They won't win anything and will waste some of their career
2. They could be so good for us!
