I'm arguing in vain with you guys. Giovinco is real good going forward? elia didn't create a goal yesterday with a backheel? nani never tracks back and rarely had end product till recently. It's w.e we can keep buying pepe style wingers who offer nothing going forward
in the quiet words of the virgin Mary... Come again?

He is not an integral player so why part with 10 million to sign him?
He'd cost £7.5m, and yes he is an integral player, not a guaranteed starter but few are or should be. It seems people either appreciate what Pepe brings or they dont, they'd rather we just had skillful wide players. I wouldn't. That's why Delneri brought Martinez AND Pepe. If Martinez wasn't such a flop (injured) so far people wouldn't be clambering over Pepe blaming him for not being good enough offensively. That is only 30% of his job.

Pepe is decent and we probably will buy him but I would rather add a few million to his fee and go for someone who is a little higher caliber. If we are to buy all the players we have on loan currently we wont have much more room for buying other players.. Aquilani and Quag deserve to be bought.. and we will see how Matri does. Pepe has not done an aweful lot to suggest he desrves to be brought here permanently. He is a good option to have on the bench but not at the expense of his fee getting in the way for signing a good fullback. But that is my opinion and i do see your reasoning for thinking he is a good asset.. he is versatile and does alot of work.

Lyon probably want to sell Bastos btw, he's been running his mouth off too much, and talks too much in the press/media, talks about internal affairs in the club and what not. To be honest he hasn't been the success everyone was waiting for at Lyon, not very consistent, has bursts of brilliance, but has not really reached expectations consistently. I don't think it would be prudent to spend more than 15M on him, and even 15M is a big risk to be honest.

Still on his day, he's a deadly winger, so he might turn out to be a worthwhile gamble.

Good stuff.. what are the chances we would have the clout to get Hazard or Gourcuff? Any idea how much one of those guys would cost. I heard Hazard might go to Arsenal or Chelsea though
