I wasn't a big fan of him, but I can understand why some would love him. I didn't really grow up with his music except for some.

I did. For a number of years Michael Jackson was the only music I was interested in, I had my whole room covered in posters of him. Most of them came from German music magazines that I didn't read, just bought it for the pictures. The culmination of that was the 1993 concert in Oslo, unforgettable. I was 10.

By the time I was 12-13 I was almost completely off MJ though, his productive career took a nosedive.

I was too young for most of his stuff, but I do remember watching Thriller and thought it was interesting at a young age. Most of his good stuff was made before I was even born.

The concert must have been pretty cool.

"All I wanna say is that, they don't really care about us"

Now that he died fairly young, his legend is gonna be even bigger.

I love me some MJ. His crazy adult antics aside. The guy was a child prodigy who never really grew into his adulthood, yet achieved way more than anyone else in music. Amazing really. He lived longer than Mozart and didn't fuck horses at the end. Three cheers for Michael.

It only broke an hour or two ago, but already the Michael Jackson news is the most ubiquitous Facebook status I've ever seen.

Yeah, it was something else. I had never seen that many people before, although it was probably like 20k in a small stadium. No other concert has come close to equal that show though.

I'll take that as a compliment :D On a sidenote I started this forum when I was 18 and at the time we had this thread called "How old do you think people are" and some guy thought I was 40.

    I'm 27.

Dude, you're 3 years younger than me. That's...that's impossible.
    You're like a father.

He was a musical whizz in several ways, understandable not being exposed to him in the same ways, after his decline, but just listening to his larger then life music, its pretty clear why he was a hit across the boarder, universally regardless of music taste or age.

Do you know when I was thinking at the start? "Why would anyone over the age of say 20-something with a life and a family want to hang out in a place like this? :wth: "
It's funny how things turn out.. :shifty:

Yeah, Lil Wayne should be the de facto dead guy when the lives of legends are in the balance.
