Ballack confirms talks with Blues
Germany captain Michael Ballack has confirmed he is in negotiations to join Chelsea at the end of the season
.

But at a press conference in Germany, he said he has yet to agree a deal with the Stamford Bridge club.

The Bayern Munich midfield star said: "Nothing has been decided yet and nothing is signed but I'm in serious talks with Chelsea."

The German star's contract at Bayern Munich runs out at the end of the season and he rejected a new deal.

Bayern, who lead the Bundesliga, have given up hope of persuading Ballack to stay.

General manager Uli Hoeness said: "From our point of view, it is clear he will leave the club.

He did wonderfully here and now it is time to get a new club and maybe get more money
Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness
"There are no more efforts to keep him. It is a professional situation.

"I am not at all disappointed in him or his behaviour. That is totally normal.

"It is totally wrong to describe us as being angry or anything like that. It is totally the opposite.

"He did wonderfully here and now it is time to get a new club and maybe get more money.

"People who know me will understand that I don't think it's a problem what I said. You need to stay with the facts."

FFS.why do chelsea need ballack!!!
Because Essien has been a mistake and Mourinho wants to take the pressure away from Lampard. Also Lampard's future at Chelsea is not as safe as one would assume especially with Barcelona's interest. Maybe not this summer but next? But everything Ballack has is perfect for a Mourinho team. Aerial qualities, arriving into the box from crosses makes him the ultimate choice. He has discipline and by alternating positions with Lampard in the matches is something that can be done.

If Ballack does go to Chelsea then any hopes of Mourinho changing formation (from 4-3-3 to say two forwards) appear to have vanished. The wide-men have been responsible for most of Chelsea's failures in all of Mourinho's time here. This summer he moved for Wright-Phillips to have 4 options; instead he would have the same three as last year and usually just Joe Cole in form. Duff will stay as predominantly reserve. Mourinho must try and work out how to get Robben performing again or to move for a new player in that position.

With Juventus also in the hunt for wide players it's safe to say Chelsea will also have the first options there too.

Chelsea are just stinking rich, they can have any player they want. They even offered Zlatan £5million a year, with Juve offering £3million a year. Depends whether the player wants football or money really
That what happened with ballack, he wanted the money, getting much more than what bayern could offer him. Hoesness even said it was solely down to money!:agree:
