Worth every penny, the best game ever! I bought a PS3 just because of it!!

Has anyone managed to get the big boss emblem?
yep, i've got it, damn hard to get though, i foudn it tough doing it on boss extreme first time, let alone in under 5 hours with no kills and no alerts, it requires alot of patience, but the rewards are worth it, not so much the big boss mask but the patriot is sexy!!! also stealth and bandana are quite useful!

That's mental. I'm having a few run thru's on liquid easy, i haven't even looked at big boss extreme but i'm finding playing it on normal is near impossible!!

That is the best playable scene in gaming history, your sitting there urging him to get through while keeping an eye on the screen above, PURE GENIUS, I keep completing it just so i can see that scene.

But Kojima said he wont be making a new one and he needs some time to decide what he will do next.
He said he wants to make a new series first, before he decides what to do with Snake...

They way he presented the situation, is that he will give birth to a new series and if the public demands a new MGS game, his company will make it, but somebody else will become his successor.
Creating a new turn/future for the successful series and a new protagonist...

EDIT just like the article confirms :)

    I'll be back: Hideo Kojima
Hideo Kojima indicated that MGS series wouldn’t be dead forever

After the launch of the phenomenal Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 this year, creator Hideo Kojima announced it to be the last installment in the MGS series.

In a recent chat with Kikizo, a gaming magazine site, Kojima indicated that his role with MGS was similar to that of Japanese anime director Hayao Miyazaki. During the chat he mentioned that he did have ideas for new games. Surprisingly, he indicated that MGS series won't be dead forever and that he may have to come back due to political (gaming industry), technological or business reasons.

Kojima further added that he'd let the younger team member to take his seat and go ahead with MGS 5. He may not be directly involved with the new game and would just be part of production team. Die-hard MGS fans can begin stalk the production studio or keep searching for some sneak previews.

Many shocking announcements of retirement have been made in the gaming industry; but none as shocking as Ken Kutaragi leaving the PlayStation team.

Will Hideo Kojima and MGS return soon? We sure hope so.
