So, outside of La Liga, group stage, qualifying rounds and Camp Nou matches:
1. CL AWAY KO matches since 2009':
= 32 matches, 8 goals without penaldos
2. World cup KO matches after 2009':
= 7 KO matches
= 0 goals in his career
3. Copa America KO matches after 2009':
= 9 matches, 2 goals

Total since 2008/09:
= 48 big away KO matches, 10 goals scored

What is worse, since 2013, it seems that a pressure has changed him.
Since 2013/14 season, Messi has played 28 big KO AWAY matches in a CL, World cups and Copa America, and scored goals on only 4 out of 28 away KO matches.
Further, Messi's teams has been KO'd 10 times on AWAY matches since 2013/14 season.
Messi hasn't scored a SINGLE GOAL on any of those 10 occassions when his team was KO'd:
2014: Atletico 1:0
2016: Atletico 2:0
2017: Juve 3:0
2018: Roma 3:0
2019: Liverpool 4:0

2014: Germany 1:0
2018: France 4:3

2015: Chile 0:0
2016: Chile 0:0
2019: Brasil 2:0

** I know, people will get extremely mad for me posting stats like these.
But the point stands from a user Kollegah:
Messi is a way weaker player when he plays outside his comfort zone.
And his comfort zone is: La Liga and HOME Camp Nou CL matches.
When Barca/Argentina play away KO matches, Messi often goes Mia or into a sulking mode when we start to lose.

Please respect the midget... everytime he plays outside he starts to feel sick... this is getting up on him... last time couldn't even pee to take the bus back.

I know the title of the topic says it all, it's about other versus other but seriously, what are you doing barca's own forum(probably alot of other forums as well) and posting their stuff on here? Like, don't you find anything else to do than find some stupid messi stuff from all the different platforms/forums and then thinking it's cool to post them into another forum, specificially made for Juventus fans? I don't even want to imagine about how many different whatsup/fb or any convos you're part of and posting it there, discussing the same stuff on there, then coming to here, doing it in here and so on, it really is pathetic.

Triggered much? I view plenty of football forums as i like to see what other clubs fans think of certain players, tranfers etc. am i supposed to just limit myself to one forum for you? Its a Messi vs Ronaldo topic and i thought it was interesting to see a very detailed post going into messi continued fails away from home in big ko games since 2008 by hes own fans .If you dont like it dont read it.

I guess you didn't see the Post's title.
It is called Messi vs Ronaldo for a reason you know. He provided stats that doesn't make messi look so great. Why do you care how he got those?
You don't have to read his post if you don't like to participate in the conversation, you know.

The difference between me and 15-18 year old fanboys is the fact that i don't need to prove to others, more less to myself that Ronaldo is the GOAT. Im open for a fresh, respectful discussion between anything, but can't see myself dealing with the stupid remarks made by millenium kids, especially when they have nothing to do with the actual debate. You can say messi is an idiot, he's a midget, he's a failure or whatever you want to call him but that has nothing to do with the discussion, it's just really pathetic. Also, considering the fact that you constatly keep comparing the two, so Messi has atleast some value in your books or otherwise you wouldn't even be wasting your time mentioning him, so there's a little dilemma right there as well.

So, the question is: is Messi a good player in your books or not? The picture i get, just by looking at your posts is that he's a total shit, just a product of a system who can't hold his own, but at the same time, he's so good that you're comparing him to Ronaldo, which in your eyes is a superior player regardless. So what is exactly what you're trying to prove in here? That Ronaldo is way better player than that little "midget"? All that effort for comparing him to a midget?

All the GREAT footballers in history left their mark with legendary performances at the top of international football.

Pele, Platini, Cruyff, Maradona all have legendary performances at either a world cup, euros, or copa america. Along with fantastic club careers.

Messi falls short of this group due to his failures at the international level.... Even if he wins the next copa he's just had too many failures at international level and did not prove himself outside of Barca.

For me personally he is tier 2 alongside Zico, CR7, R9, Zidane etc

Also just to be clear this is not some revelation I've had after Messi was ko'd from this Copa America. This has always been my stance and you can look through my old posts to confirm. However, this latest set of failures have only reinforced my position and have pretty much closed the door in my eyes for Messi to join those 4 GOATS.

Maybe if he has a legendary 2022 world cup that could change, but that seems rather unlikely.

Can you please tell me why do you include pele as a potential all time great? I have never understood the hype with him.
He played in a no offside, no tactics time and never in Europe. Could you imagine a guy like r9, cr7, or messi in that time.
If this guys scored almost 700 in our time , in pelle's era i think they would score 2000.
