Wage is obviously issue but Inter can surely do better than that. I am sure there are many teams that would be willing to take Canna on that value.
However, I do think Canna has passed his prime, and he has suddenly become mistake prone, and loss bit of his amazing atheletic ability. Beside, I just do not think you can go beyond 33 in a competitive league given the way in which he relies on atheleticism so much. In another words, while Real is getting a bargain no doubt, I do not think Canna is a type of player that we need. I am not a big fan of Bonera but at this stage I would rather take him given the lack of attractive alternatives. If we become desperate then we may as well give Dainelli a chance - He is a real tough defender that has proven himself with Brescia for many years. Taking risks on Koldrup wouldnt be bad idea either, but preferrably gain an option on him.
It is not the end of the world if we loose Canna though it will give us very few options this year. I still think we can conduct transfer campaign in different ways by gaining options on young players with the view to next year.
Does anyone know what happened Kevin Hofland? Surely Bouma isnt better CB than him and yet started in the Euro.

if moggi misses out on cannavaro for 3 million, it could be the end of him. The fans in turin will could very well burn him at the stake!

Inter wants to ease up their wages bill and as channel4 said, they're reducing the asking price to agree a deal with Real. I don't think they'll give Juve the same offer.......they'd much rather Cannavaro leave to Spain. So Moggi is probably helpless.

Hofland had a long injury a year ago or something. He came back but took a long time to regain his form, in that time Bouma sprung unto the scene for psv. PSV bought Alex(through Chelsea ofcourse) making their new central partnership: Alex-Bouma.

Hofland was sold to wolfsburg for 3 or 5 million euros if i'm not mistaken.

The latest news i read is that Real,Camacho to say the thruth is now considering his options, and seriosly thinking about Woodgate from Newcastle who is 24 years old.
It seems like Camacho prefers him to old Canna...so it is still not over...
But Real and Inter, yeah they have everything almost agreed.

Breaking News....Real Madrid has agreed a £15 million fee for Woodgate !
Now just has to assess his current injury problem and agree personal terms.

Cannavaro for 3m? That could be the purchase of the summer, Moggi better not miss out on him like he has on Mexes, Ferrari, Carvalho, Ujfalusi, Rodriguez, etc, etc.

Real Ask For Nesta Valuation
8/19/2004 1:00:00 PM
Spanish daily Marca have reported that Real Madrid asked Milan how much Alessandro Nesta would cost.
The Merengues inquired on the matter last week, and were promptly told by the Rossoneri that the centre-back was not for sale.

Newcastle's Jonathan Woodgate is now Real’s prime defensive target.

Looks like they have forgoten Fabio. :thumb:
