Gazzetta dello Sport: Yesterday morning a meeting was held with Del Piero and Alessio Secco, Jean-Claude Blanc, and Stefano Del Piero, brother and agent to the Juve captain. It was just a meeting to see where the two parties stand; no negotiations took place.

Del Piero wants a contract to 2010 and then a year-by-year contract similar to Maldini's. The goal is to be able to play at the next World Cup. The clubs offer is alleged to have been a one year extension (to 2009) with a €2.5m per year - half of what he makes today. Most probably it is a bluff offer. The two will meet again on August 25th.

Corriere dello Sport: Ranieri wants a leader for the midfield and an interest in Gilberto Silva has been revived. Juve are also following Makelele (who's saying that he's going to stay in England), Motta and Edmilson. Lokomotiv Moskva's president is demanding €15m for Ivanovic.

Gazzetta dello Sport: Del Piero is going to enter contract negotiatons. The club is offering a contract to 2010 with a salary cut of 20%. Juve's bluff has been called, like the demand of a three years contract from the player and his agent. The club received protests yesterday from upset supporters who weren't pleased with the treatment the icon Del Piero was receiving. The management, who was being called cynical and ungreatful, have no other option but to come to a deal.

Blasi is near to Monaco while Atlético have hit the breaks when it comes to Legrottaglie, who's still a target for Genoa. None of the players played yesterday.

La Stampa: Jess Vanstrattan has to return to Verona, according to a decision made by Lega Calcio yesterday. Vanstrattan signed a contract with Juve in June after his contract with Verona had been cancelled because he lied about going home to Australia.

Corriere dello Sport: Juventus and Inter are fighting for Argentina's new midfielder-general Ever Banega. The Boca player has impressed greatly under the U20 World Cup.

What I am talking about is that I don't see a need to bring in a U20 player from Argentina. He will propably be very expensive and besides, we have great midfielders in the squad now. Besides, we have Giovinco and Marchisio for the future midfield. I know they are propably hyped a bit too much, but I feel the least we owe these guys is to give them a fair shot to make the team. Not bring in an Argentine.

Radio Kiss Kiss: Zalayeta's agent Daniel Delgado says that the Uruguayan could become a Napoli player as soon as tomorrow. A price has not been mentioned.

Tuttosport: Boumsong is on the verge of signing with Lyon. His replacement could be Walter Samuel who is not finding a place in Inters back-line and could possibly consider a move to Turin.

People: Juve has reportedly made a bid of €6m for Gilberto Silva. Arsenal wants at least 9 million.


Sunderland wants to buy Chiellini. Juventus is still interested in Cannavaro who's value is at 7 million. Juve are however only willing to pay 4.7 since Real still owe them 2.3 for Emerson.

That's my positive memory of him too, as a giallorosso! He's not an all time great but compared to Boumsong...hell, grab him (Samuel) before he changes his mind!

That's my positive memory of him too, as a giallorosso! He's not an all time great but compared to Boumsong...hell, grab him (Samuel) before he changes his mind!

Napoli have reportedly completed the co-ownership signings of Juventus duo Manuele Blasi and Marcelo Zalayeta.

The Partenopei have been seeking reinforcements over the last fortnight to add to the four new recruits who have already arrived this summer as they prepare for their return to Serie A.

According to a journalist from Il Roma, Bianconeri sporting director Alessio Secco has admitted that the Old Lady have agreed to sell a 50 per cent share in the two fringe players to the Stadio San Paolo outfit.

Whispers suggest that Blasi will pocket a £750,000 signing-on fee, while Uruguayan hitman Zalayeta is set to receive the slightly smaller sum of £675,000.

An official announcement is set to be made by the two clubs at a Press conference later this evening and via the teams’ websites.

Both players are reportedly already on their way to join their new teammates at Napoli’s training facility in Capodichino.

I don't mind selling Blasi, but Zalayeta was loyal and useful substitute his whole career in Juve, we should have keep him.

Official: Blasi and Zalayeta to Napoli

Manuele Blasi and Marcelo Zalayeta are ready for Napoli. They are being co-owned by the teams and signed a four year and a five year contract respectively.

That they were to leave the Juventus was just a matter of time. Several teams were mentioned but in the end Napoli was mentioned the most and now it's a done deal.

Juventus are not likely to miss the players too much as both were seen as extra in the team. With four inner midfielders, Blasi wasn't needed and Zalayeta had gotten tired for being the fifth wheel.

What remains to be seen now is if Juve will look for a new striker or if they are content with the four they have. There are rumours that a last attempt will be made to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Lastly, we can report that Jess Vanstrattan is back with Juve after the mess Verona. He is being loaned out.

Corriere dello Sport: Fabio Cannavaro is despite what Juve's management say, not written off at all for a move back to Juventus.

Real has spent loads of money during the summer and could need some money. Cannavaro is far from the player he was for Juventus and during the World Cup and therefore isn't unsellable.

Both Cobolli Gigli and Secco deny everything regarding Cannavaro but there are still talks that Juve are trying to convince Real to let go of the nazionale captain at a discounted price.

I still wouldn't mind either Samuel or Cannavaro, both are world classes just in the wrong enviroment, if we got either of them we would turn them around I'm certain. I'd prefer Samuel as he has a year or two more in him, but as things are I'd welcome the great Canna with arms wide open. Traitor, no traitor, he gave his all for this club and offered some of the best defensive displays in football for a long time.
