Naturally, Lippi has a special regard for his former club Juventus, who have completely revamped the side for their return to the top flight.

“You know who the best buys for Juve were? Gianluigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and Mauro Camoranesi. If these four old faces can have a great season, then the new players will also become important. You cannot do it the other way round. In any case, Juve haven’t finished their transfer campaign yet.”

There is one player that Lippi advises the Bianconeri to go for as soon as possible.

“One of my favourites is Ricardo Quaresma. The day I go back to coaching I will do everything possible to sign him. Quaresma could make any club have that extra step up in quality.”

Thats worth bringing Lippi back on its own!!

    Corriere dello Sport:
Representatives from Juventus traveled today to Moscow to recruit Branislav Ivanovic. Budget: €5m. The player is considered to have the right qualities both as a player and as a person. He has been used as a wingback but is really a midfielder. The player himself is ready to leave Russia: "Me in Juventus, that'd be fantastic."

Gazzetta dello Sport: Lokomotiv won't sell Ivanovic before January possibly. Stuttgart's 15 million price tag on Meira is considered too high. The German's have no intentions on letting go of their defender as long as they don't get a bid they can't refuse.

Same situation is true for Juve when it comes to Chiellini. They won't sell him as long as they don't get an offer they can't refuse. Instead the intention is to extend Chiellini's contract considering one of the reasons the current situation emerged was as a result of the player feeling he was under-payed.

Monaco want to buy Blasi. In Italy the teams interested are Atalanta and Udinese but the interest here is in the form of loan with option to buy.

Tuttosport: Meria is still favorite for the defense. Ranieri has denied that an additional midfielder will be recruited but according to the newspaper their [Juve's] hopes lie with Emerson.

    Ivanovic isn't even a midfielder.

ROME, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Claudio Ranieri said Juventus were not looking for reinforcements despite the promoted side's unimpressive form in pre-season friendlies.

"We are not buying anyone," the former Chelsea boss told a news conference on Tuesday.

The Turin club have been linked with Stuttgart's Portuguese defender Fernando Meira after recent defeats to Newcastle United, Hamburg and a 1-1 draw at Sunderland.

The Juve defence has looked fragile despite the arrival of Meira's Portugal team mate Jorge Andrade from Deportivo Coruna and Czech international Zdenek Grygera from Ajax in the close season.

"Some might say we need a defender, a midfielder or a striker, but I say the market is closed," Ranieri added.

Ranieri also played down reports in the Italian and British media that the Turin side are planning to sell Italy Under-21 left-back Giorgio Chiellini to Manchester City.

"I would have been surprised if Chiellini had gone, I'm not surprised he's staying. I'm happy he's part of this squad," the coach said.

Marca: Atlético Madrid have shown interest in Legrottaglie. The clubs have been in contact and a possible loan deal is on the table.

    Gazzetta dello Sport:
The back-up plan to Meira is now Zapata. Blasi is on his way to Monaco while Olivera and Zalayeta are awaiting possibilities of leaving the club.

    La Stampa:
Inter have offered Cesar to Juve on a free loan where Inter would even pay half of his salary.

Daily Mail: Heinze says that he doesn't know about any interest from Juventus.

I think it would be stupid to let him go on a loan. I say we either sell him, or keep him and give him a chance to compete.

Would be a good transfer. He is Serie A proven, young and it seems, a grat talent aswell.

I'm not often left speechless, but reading our Mr.Ranieri's comments yesterday on how he is happy that the team is complete as is...

Somebody tell me there's more to this than meets the eye...it's got to be a money thing, right?
