And we've seen the same with many others.
It's fine to get 2-3 such players and see where it takes you. I said that I hope it won't be our main tactic. Conte was talking how many Juve players from the mid-90's came from small Italian teams and became great in Juve. That is true but we also added some superstars to those teams (Baggio, Vialli, Zidane etc). Guys like Di Livio, Conte, Torriceli and Tacchi were indeed good and important, but Baggio, Vialli and Zidane were the stars and the best players who led the team. We might find a Conte in Lecce or Atalanta, but if those teams had a Baggio or a Zidane, that player would have already caught the eye of the scouts. We won't simply make a prince out of some frog we buy from the minnows.

I think the quality argument will come in to play in the Summer if we get European football, then I believe we'll sign a quality player or perhaps two.

I think we'll get a star name to replace Del Piero to be honest, unless he decides to bring Giovinco back. However I believe we'll spend probably 30 million + sales if we get European football next year.

Conte isn't stupid though. Everyone else will reinforce and get better, we can't just sit there and trust these players. I am sure if we reach CL we will get ONE top player.
